Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
Thanks, you guys have been a great help. I'll probably drop by Huahin for day or 2, but spend a chunk of my time in BKK. Unless HH gives me a reason to stay

Book yourself or let the hotel deal?
I'm not sure if I should book my taxi from BBK to HH in advance from home or let my hotel reserve a taxi for me. Any thoughts on that?
Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
This thread has been really helpful.I am hoping to arrange a holiday in the new year, march time.If the hotel would arrange a pick up from bkk to hua hin would the taxi be a decent car with air conditioning. Dont really want to be sitting in a poor a car in the heat.
The hotel does do a mini bus from its bangkok hotel but that does not arrive into Hua Hin late in the evening and would be a waste of a day when I would rather be relaxing in the hotels pool.

Most taxis in Thailand are decent with air conditioning. There's plenty to choose from, and the cost shouldn't break the bank. The last few times that I've done the journey it's been by limo - cost 2,500 Baht. A standard vehicle would come in a lot cheaper.

Not a bad price for a two hour Limo trip.Looking through the info about Hua Hin. It looks the perfect place to live but with me being a gardener I am not going to work for a month for 7000 Baht which other people are paying for gardeners.I would also be knackered working in that heat twelve months a year.

Quality vehicles and service can be booked online here: http://www.taxihuahin.net/
They are a little more expensive, use new Toyota Camrys I believe, and will wait as long as it takes for you.
We realise Sombat down the road can get you to Hua Hin for a few hundred baht less in his 14 year old LPG powered Nissan. You get what you pay for!

You'd never get a work permit to be a gardener. It's work a Thai can do and 7000 a month is a lot for most Thaislondon_pa wrote:Not a bad price for a two hour Limo trip.Looking through the info about Hua Hin. A point worth considering if your hotel is offering a taxi service. If you do not use their facility your travel insurance may be invalidated for the duration of your stay in the hotel.
A couple of friends of mine were booked into the Sofitel on a packaged holiday involving all hotels and travel being covered in the package price but NOT taxi transfer to and from the hotel. The Sofitel wanted 7000 plus vat one way. I told my friends I could get it for 2000 one way door to door in a comfortable limo. When they checked with their travel agent they were told travel to the Sofitel and stay at the Sofitel would not be covered by their travel insurance. It was during the peak of the floods so too risky to jeopardize the cost of 9 nights in the Sofitel (already paid for) for the sake of 5000 Baht
Check with your agents to ascertain whether this applies to you. It may only apply to full packaged holidays through greedy travel agents
Think the agent is onto a cut of the taxi fee

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
No need for a girl friendly taxi, just three lads.

Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
Any advice on the official taxis in Bangkok airport where you book from the stand. I think this is part of the official tourist center or something like that.
