Can't remember the names but wasn't the show called Pipkins?

Surprised you didn't get my one above Randy - it's a rock music based question. Think cult sci-fi TV show and a (great) band that never gets airplay on radio stations.

Fantastic Pipkins it was I had forgot the name of the show,
the chap was called "Johnny" and the monkey was called "Topoff", as he was always on top of things, all together now "pigs always hungry". If I remember the pig had areal brummy accent.

The Ostrich was Octavia.
Jaime, is that three names of rock bands or one name & 2 songs? The bird of prey, I think is The Eagles, but I'm not sure whether the others are their songs (?) or other groups/singers. Or am I barking up a totally wrong tree?

Just reread your posts Jaime & I reckon the celestial tourist has to be something to do with "Hitchikers Guide to The Galaxy", but never having seen (or read) it, that's as far as I get. One Eagle? Don Henley appeared in Hitchikers? OK, I'm clutching at straws, no idea & none about the travelling magician.

Sorry, yes it was Pipkins. The hare was Hartley! There was also a tortoise which sang - 'slowley, steadily I go at my own pace'

Well done Dawn - the connection is The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The bird of prey is The Eagles. The celestial tourist is the hitchhiker - whose name was? More of a victim than a hitchhiker really! The travelling magician is to do with The Eagles - one of their tracks is the theme music for the TV series. You either know it or you don't! It's off 'One of These Nights.'

So,

The name of the hitchhiker?
The theme tune?

Would that be Ford Prefect?

How about the theme tune? It's all that's left to get!
