Thanks to those people with their kind reveiws.
At El murphy's we use a huge flame grill with griddle and smoker,we seal the steak on the griddle and flame(gas) grill to the customers spec.
We apprecate all feedback on our products and if anyone wants more pepper sauce,salsa or anything else please do not hesistate to ask our staff as the only thing we charge extra for is beer(sometimes).

Hi all. been a while since I last posted, but I have managed to get out and about. Recently tried Brasserie de Paris, very nice steak but bit too pricy for me. Four seasons, excellent (thanks huahinjim) very good value too. Dissapointed with Hyatt, expected better and service was a little off this particular night. El'Murphy's remains my top spot for both value and taste. They are flamegrilled incidentally and if you dont want it burnt to a cinder the steak remains nice and juicy. Put on a couple of kilo but my wallet sort of evens things up.. ha.. ha.

Glad you enjoyed it, Tigger. Always good when a recommendation works out. I've been back several times since my post and had great food everytime. Last time even had some left-over(??) and had steak sandwich for lunch next day. Best I've had.

MY wife and I went to 'Uno's' last night to try the steaks.
Fillet Migneon @380B for the wife and 'Sliced fillet' @280B for me.
Mine was just about edible and the wifes was awful - stringy, dry etc.
The menu looked very extensive, but we definitely WON'T be going back.
The staff had the greatest difficulty in even understanding that we wanted steaks and when it came to asking how we would like them cooked - medium for the wife and medium rare for me, it took about 10 minutes and five diferent people before we got anybody that had the slightest idea of what we were talking about. Sorry, we thought the food was awful and told them so.

Pork and beef steaks, meatballs, spaghetti and curry dishes and Thai food ----all superb

The boss and his staff are also so friendly and helpful

You get a nice tossed salad with every European meal

Not sure if sometime in the past i recommended Uno - they must have had a change of ownership or staff - it is about 8 months since i went and what a shame that they have lost the plot. I had a good meal and great service last time.

Baan Monta do a brilliant Pork Fillet with mushroom sauce. Make sure to order the jacket potatoe!

Seems to be very evident that keeping staff is the biggest single issue for restaurants.

I had a lovely meal at the La Paillote last week - good wine selection also.

Sorry you had a bad experience at Uno's. I'd go along with JW that maybe the original owners have taken the quick buck and got out. Haven't been there for some time, but used to go quite regularly before we moved. At the time I recommended it to lots of people. The 'filet mignon' was the best I'd ever had and could double for a 'Sunday Joint'.

A shame it's gone down the pan!!

Avoid the many seafood/steak restaurants on the night market, cheap priced and cheap quality, ok if you like to take your time chewing the water buffalo all night.

I agree with cheshiremusicman. I got a steak at Unos and it was terrible. stringy and dry with crinkle cut chips and a pour-over bland sauce - yet I get conflicting opinions about the food here, so I reckon they have different chefs - one good / one bad. Pity I always seem to go when the bad ones there!
