England coach Brian Ashton picks Andy Farrell at fly-half for Friday's World Cup clash with South Africa.

Interesting to see how that turns out. He has only played one game at 10 in union and that was for Saracens A team 11 months ago!!
I think it is just as well that Burger will not be playing.

Ironic that Schalk Burger has been banned for a dangerous tackle against Samoa; a side that has got away with committing some horrendous tackles over the years, having been given plenty of slack by referees because 'it's the way they play the game.'
With you all the way there, Jaime, on both points. So here's a little pressie, though you probably have it tucked safely away on video somewhere! :thumb:

(BTW, can anyone tell me why my YouTube plays are always 2seconds play, 5 secs pause all the way through? I have an adsl landline connection through TOT which otherwise has been fine.)

The citing argument and the BBC link was interesting, Pete, (particularly to see that it's not just the Poms that whinge), but the bottom line is that it can be a dangerous game sometimes, and as players are getting stronger and faster it's getting potentially more dangerous. Discouraging foul play in any way can only be good for the game. Having said that, I always thought that citing was only to deal with offences missed by the ref? Has it changed, or was I just plain wrong?

Still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up after seeing it countless times....

But can anyone name the commentator? This will sort out the REAL rugby fans from the rest!

Hi Randy,

Glad to see you are safe and soundly back in Thailand. Hope your not suffering the old 'Post Traumatic Brit Syndrome'. Have plenty of cold ones on a regular basis, smile wantonly at the lady who holds your heart, and play lots of your rock music at meditative levels - headphones optional. This should quickly return you to your previous levels of serenity and leave all the memories of the UK behind.

Oh yes, and the rugby. The only places I know that will show it are in town, it will be on at Bernies for sure - whatever the time, or at the Lord Nelson (with the shutters down). Might even see you in one of the two myself.

Not having a schedule handy, are most of these week day games going to be night matches? I guess it makes sense as in France, working week, daytime attendance may be slim, people may get fired, people would be watching TV in the office lunchroom if day matches? The A380 would be late yet again? :P Pete
