I have to say about 98.5% of what I read is non fiction, I love a good biography. The Kenneth Williams diaries were fantastic, I felt like had lost a relative when I finished it. On the fiction side I love Gerrald durrell and Jerome k jerome. I could go on and on....lol

Eeerrrmm,

I hate to make more problems, especially when poor Chas has just found out where Dick's Office actually is, but will Dick's Office be open on Saturday? The 15th is one of the days they're talking about closing down bars.

Does anybody know for certain? We might need to change venue quickly! :?

I should think they will be open, but (probably) just not able to serve alcohol. I'd suggest you call them on either 085 9307232 or 089 0469505 - the first one is direct to Richard (Dick himself!).

Just spoken to Richard (thanks for the number, WL). We can use Dick's Office as a venue, but no alcohol will be served. It is also likely that the doors will be closed, so don't be discouraged if they are - knock.

So, venue is still Dick's Office, Soi 80. 3:30pm on Saturday 15th. Look forward to seeing you all there. :D

Thanks to all that turned up. I think we all managed to go away with some decent new reading material. I think I actually took more books than I brought  Never mind, I'll bring them all back. Next one, January. Elem, pm me or post when you know a good date for you & we'll have it then. :thumb:

Nice to meet you Dawn, Dolly, Chas, Nigel, Dan (you really should have gone with the paper bag idea, though  ), Richard - and of course little'un, who was a charmer, even though his taste in books didn't quite coincide with Dawn's... And anyone who's name I didn't get, though I think that covers pretty much everyone. And I think everybody went away with something (Dan was very relieved to find a couple of Sydney Sheldons...).

It was a good idea, and although there weren't that many of us there it worked out well. I hope it becomes a regular thing.

It turned into more of a book pool than a straight one for one swap, and as I had the biggest box (so to speak), I got lumbered with the leftovers (most of which were mine anyway - does nobody else read sci-fi and fantasy??), which I'll bring along next time.

Suits me. I'm nowhere near the last one (hardly surprising with the amount I took  ), but I do have 10 neatly piled up for swapping. Time & place, anyone? :)

Sorry, haven't visited the forum for a while. Dick's office again? Maybe next Friday or Saturday afternoon? (I can't make Sunday). Will you do the necessary, Dawn?

OK, Saturday the 2nd Feb at 3pm, Dick's Office? Is that convenient for everyone?

This is open to anyone - posters or non-posters. If you have books to swap, bring them along & get something you haven't read in return. It's completely free - apart from your bar bill :) ! Please, come along & help make these book swaps successful.

Just found out that that date (2nd) isn't convenient for me.

So, you'll have to do this one without me, guys. Hopefully I'll have more books to contribute by the next time. :)
