Happened in the UK recently:

Partygoers who claimed to be unaware of the global pandemic, a group hosting a gender reveal party and people attending an illegal car meet are among the coronavirus rule-breakers caught over the weekend.

Police shut down a party in Basingstoke, Hampshire, on Saturday but were told the hosts were "unaware of the global pandemic, as they never watch the news".

It's only been a worldwide problem for close to a year! How could they possibly know?

J&J seeks to register single-shot vaccine
Johnson & Johnson is seeking to register its single-shot Covid-19 vaccine in Thailand, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) revealed on Monday.

The American multinational corporation has applied to register their vaccine with the FDA but some documents were missing, said Dr Surachoke Tangwiwat, deputy secretary-general of the FDA.

The company is required to have the relevant papers and file them within 30 days, he said.

In the meantime, the FDA is examining the filed papers that have been submitted, Dr Surachoke said, adding that no other company has recently applied to register their coronavirus vaccine.

The FDA last week revealed that it approved the registration of AstraZeneca Co's vaccine after the firm submitted nearly 10,000 pages of documents in December.

As for the registration of China's Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine, Dr Surachoke said although it has yet to be registered for use in China, the jab could be allowed to be used in Thailand if the FDA determines it is safe and effective.

The plan to locally manufacture AstraZeneca's vaccine is pressing ahead despite uncertainty surrounding the timing of the delivery of the jab, according to Dr Sophon Mekthon, chairman of the government's sub-committee on Covid-19 vaccine management.

Thailand should be awash with vaccines with the Chinese, Indian, AZ, and now JJ ... but no, bamboozled by bureaucracy and mountains of paperwork that this country is famous for. The junta has to get its priorities right, which is profit over people.

You can see this crap backfiring already, the rest of the world will be vaccinated long before Thailand so they'll be able to travel but will avoid this place like the proverbial plague.

HEALTH OFFICIALS CAN’T EVEN AGREE ON COVID VACCINE LAUNCH DATE
A health official on Wednesday contradicted health minister Anutin Charnvirakul on the potential date when the vaccination against COVID-19 will begin, the latest sign that the country’s inoculation drive is far from ready.

Tawee Chotpitayasunondh, a senior expert at the National Communicable Disease Committee, said the first shot of coronavirus vaccine will be administered “within this month” as soon as the first shipment of 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine arrives in Thailand – slightly sooner than the target date projected yesterday by Anutin.

“The vaccination program will go ahead as planned within this month,” Tawee said by phone Wednesday.

Anutin told reporters on Tuesday that the vaccination will not happen until March.

The health minister also asked his detractors to stop comparing Thailand with other countries who already received the jabs since he wanted to ensure that the vaccines are safe.

“It’s the same answer: March,” he replied when a reporter asked when the vaccine campaign will kick off.

He continued, “Those who like to say that other countries have received the vaccine should see that they got it because they agreed to use their citizens as test subjects. That will never happen to Thai people under this health minister. Imagine that if you received the shot and got Bell’s Palsy and muscle weakness, who will explain that?”

Anutin, who has no background in healthcare, did not cite any evidence to support his warning. Although the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention did report that cases of Bell’s Palsy were found during the clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccine, the rate of prevalence is not considered to be above the rate expected in the general population.

Thailand is still waiting for the shipment of 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to arrive from Italy, but it is unclear whether the vaccine will arrive this month as expected. The European Union has imposed vaccine export restrictions in response to the supply dispute between AstraZeneca and the EU.

The government previously floated the date of Feb. 14 to roll out vaccine against COVID-19. Anutin now distanced himself from that goal.

“I’ve never said the doses will be given out on Feb. 14,” Anutin told reporters on Wednesday.

Anutin is full of BS. He is totally unqualified to be a health minister. I wouldn't believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

Incidentally, Bell's Palsy is not serious and normally recovers fully. I've known a couple of people in Thailand that contracted it. Assumed at the time from drinking water from the tap. They had to endure constant jokes about their facial expressions until it faded away.
