Although I was hoping (and expecting) Liverpool to win, you have to admit that Utd were worth at least a point - if games were decided differently I’d say they were the slightly better team, but overall good game for the neutrals.

Arguably worth all 3, especially as that penalty was very harsh. No way was he trying to control the ball with his hand

Liverpool can feel fortunate to get the point IMO with the Mcguire miss at the end

If you could split the points I’d give Utd 2 and Liverpool 1, but of course you can’t.

As for the handball, Newcastle got a goal from an unintentional handball from one of their players and Utd concede a penalty - there’s not a lot of consistency.

Sean Dyche sacked by Everton!!

Not sure whether I’m surprised about this or not - I guess these days very few managers jobs are safe!!

Moyes is back at Everton. I sincerely hope he does well as it's probably his last stop.

Premier League 2024-25

It’s strange how some managers seem to survive well past their sell by date - apart from Moyes, Roy Hodgson, Jose Mourinho, Sam Allardyce to name but a few - they may have had periods when they were doing well but they also had the complete opposite.

Time will tell whether Moyes can do better than Dyche!!

BBC Match Of The Day

Post by Dannie Boy »

As this is about televised highlights from the Premier League, I’m putting this article here but Mods can move if they prefer.

BBC have announced three presenters to replace Gary Lineker from next season - my personal preference would have been for Mark Chapman to be the sole presenter, but I appreciate Gaby Logan as a football (and other sports) commentator - I don’t know much about Kelly Cates (other than she’s the daughter of Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish), but has apparently many years of broadcasting experience. Interesting to see how it works out, although I’m fairly confident they’ll be better than Lineker!!

I see that as being a feather in Lineker's hat. Having to be replaced by 3 people makes him seem like some sort of super-presenter. :run:

Obviously some people liked Lineker although I can’t say I was his biggest fan - he was ok but no more and I never understood why/how he commanded a salary of £1.4m?

My comment was totally tongue in cheek. I never liked, nor disliked the guy. I never watch MOTD, and if live football, I'd be making coffee while he was rabbiting on. :D

Quite a shock in the early kick off with Newcastle being well beaten by Bournemouth 1-4 - will there be any more surprises later on?

Well bit of a surprise in that Arsenal were 2 nil up at home and didn't win

Villa making a push for champions league again(could be top 5 teams qualify this season)

I’m sure Arsenal will be kicking themselves - they had the game seemingly sown up at 2-0 and then managed to surrender.

Great result in the City game. Keeps that 8 point gap from relegation alive for Spurs. Hopefully pool can do us a favour against Ipswich next. Big six-pointer against Leicester coming up for Spurs.
