Well, if it`s so easy why has nobody cracked it? :?

The only couple of places that show up in Asia are The Philippines and Malacca.
The Dutch Cemetery in Malacca has similar crypts, but as you have said to look to the East, that is ruled out.

New Orleans in the US also use above ground crypts, but you have said Asia.

There are many examples in the Philippines, but I cannot find any that match the rest of your clues. :(

Actually that last line of mine was from an Only fools and horses sketch (jolly boys outing), I just couldn't put over the meaning, being easy to those that know, as I do!

Okay, final, final clue and then all will be revealed and I will prepare to duck... :duck:

Old Protestant Cemetery in Macau

It is the last resting place of:

The artist George Chinnery
Missionaries Robert Morrison
Rev. Samuel Dyer
Royal Navy Captain Henry John Spencer-Churchill (son of George Spencer-Churchill and great-great-grand-uncle of Winston Churchill)
US Naval Lieutenant Joseph Harod Adams (grandson of the second president of the United States, John Adams, and nephew of the sixth, John Quincy Adams)

And if this is correct you need to get your GPS checked, caller!

Well done Nereus!

The sensible old Chinese weren't having any Missionaries buried on their land, so off they went to Macau. I stumbled across it on my one and only visit to the place, erm, 31 years ago!!! :(

The link to SM (I believe) was mention of Magellan, which took me to Vasco Da Gama, who was a childhood hero, whose exploits I had forgotten about when learning his statue was in Macau, which led to the cemetary and this question.

GPS? Is Macau not in the east? :?

By the by, I visited that Oxfordshire churchyard on Friday, heading home from Staffordshire - I'll post some pics and observations here in a few days.

It is if you are in the UK. But this is a Thailand forum, and to go "east" from here takes you to the Philippines!

Where is this place?

Which heroic figure is connected with it?

Spot on I think Lindosfan - where the warships for Nelson's navy were built.

Well done! :D Correct. It is a lovely place where we used to go when I was a child. My late father loved Beaulieu and the National motor museum, which is close by.

Sorry thought someone had answered this one DM.

Is it shaped like that or a wide angled lense photo? Is it curved?

That would be the Natural History Museum in London - superb from memory.

Have not visited for donkeys years - might just try a visit again this summer when the Long Haired general and I go back to the UK for a visit........ I'm sure the LHG will entertain herself with shopping!

Very impressive, Monsieur Harvey - I don't think I'd have recognised it. I've spent a lot of my life in London, but I haven't been in any of the museums for decades.

(Oh, and I meant to say well done to Lindisfarne - that one was really obscure!)

Not been for years either DM, but with the first visit as a kid, the entrance certainly made a lasting impression!!

OK then.........

What is this, where is it kept and why is it a subject of interest?

Certainly not directly related, but a clue nonetheless: -
