Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Hurt? You mean on this forum? I don't remember anything like that, only the usual banter - can you give an example?
To be honest, although I join in the mutual loathing game on here to a degree, my only real interest in what happens to Arsenal is how it relates to Spurs' position. What puzzles me slightly is why Arsenal fans, after so many years with the upper hand, still appear to be so obsessed with Spurs.
Of course, we all like to see the Goliaths get a slingshot between the eyes, and it's good for the game to see the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man U struggling to different degrees, but I wouldn't have a problem seeing Arsenal win the Premiership this season, provided Spurs were continuing to make progress, in terms of points, performance and league position. I'd rather finish 3rd or 4th behind Arsenal than 5th ahead of them.

Obsessed? really? . . . . . I find that hard to believe.dtaai-maai wrote:What puzzles me slightly is why Arsenal fans, after so many years with the upper hand, still appear to be so obsessed with Spurs.
The banter can get a bit excessive at times (not on this forum i might add) but I wouldn't say obsessive.

Crystal palace still doing well.
Certainly a team to watch. Amazing not many comments about Leicester top of the league at christmas.

Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.
Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Its great to see teams like Leicester,Palace and Watford doing so well this season.
Leicester have been a revelation.I thought that they would have been relegation fodder at the start of the campaign.
I hope they win the Premiership, although I cant see it as they have yet to hit a dodgy spell and have a few injuries.
But even if they came 4th and qualified for the Champions League it would be a magnificent achievement.
Just shows you dont have to spend mega bucks to be successful.

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
It's great to see Leicester doing so well and playing open attacking football - they might not boss every game possession wise, but at the end of the day it's about sticking your chances away and they have two of the most prolific scorers in the PL at the moment doing just that. Even though Vardy never got on the scoresheet on Saturday., he was involved in all three goals.
Might as well mention Watford as well - both teams being tipped as likely relegation candidates at the start of the season but proving all the "experts" wrong.

The forum mostly sees harmless banter, but it wouldn`t be wise to express similar opinions in a pub on matchday inhabited by rival fans! Except for Arsenal fans of course who are always generous in their appreciation of other fans`observations

Arsenal 2-1 Man City
An odd game, which City could have had in the bag in the first 30 minutes, during which Arsenal looked very ordinary, then Walcott scored a cracking goal from nowhere and Arsenal woke up. Giroud got a slightly lucky 2nd just before half time, then they gradually sat further back as the game progressed. Toure scored an absolute cracker on 80 minutes, and Arsenal hung on for a win.
Is this a problem for Arsenal? They must have been thinking of putting Wenger out to grass at the end of the season - surely quite difficult when he's getting results... they might have to put up with him twitching on the touchline for a few more years!

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Some sad news from the world of football......an excellent coach for many years and not a bad player either.....an Arsenal legend.... RIP.
Don Howe: Former Arsenal and England coach dies aged 80
Former England international and coach Don Howe has died at the age of 80.
The full-back played for West Brom and Arsenal, earning 23 England caps, before establishing himself as a renowned coach for club and country.
Howe helped Arsenal to a league and FA Cup double in 1971 and spent four years as West Brom boss before returning to the Gunners as coach and manager.
He also coached under former England managers Ron Greenwood, Sir Bobby Robson and Terry Venables.
Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick said Howe had been "enduring a long battle with illness", but added it was still a "shock to learn the news".
Howe played every game in the 1958 World Cup and was then a key part of Robson's coaching staff as England reached the semi-finals of the 1990 World Cup, before also supporting Venables as his side made it to the last four of Euro 96.
Former Gunners goalkeeper Bob Wilson said Howe was "a fine player but truly he was one of the greatest ever coaches in football".
FA chairman Greg Dyke described his death as a "great loss for English football".
Dyke added: "He is widely regarded as being in the vanguard of coaching in England, and I know that his loss will be keenly felt amongst the coaching fraternity in particular and not least by [current England boss] Roy Hodgson, who was close to Don."
Hodgson said: "I found myself privileged to say he befriended me and I think it is a great loss and I am very sad.
"I think we were very fortunate growing up as young coaches to be able to take inspiration from Don, Sir Bobby Robson and Dave Sexton alongside him.
"He was absolutely one of the very best coaches I have ever come across in my life and, certainly in my opinion, one of the very best coaches England ever had."
Howe's managerial career also included spells at QPR, Coventry City and Turkish club Galatasaray, while he was also a coach under Bobby Gould when Wimbledon earned a shock win over Liverpool in the 1988 FA Cup final.
But he was best known for his relationship with Arsenal, which spanned five decades.
Appointed as Gunners manager in 1984, he was credited with developing the likes of former players such as the late David Rocastle, Martin Keown, Michael Thomas and Niall Quinn.
Former boss George Graham said that Arsenal's 1971 'Double' under manager Bertie Mee was "due to the organisation of Don".
Graham told BBC Radio 5 live: "He was a lovely man. Quiet in company but he could lose his temper as well. Certainly one of the best coaches I have worked for."
Wilson added: "He was innovative and for us as a club he was instrumental and inspirational. He made us believe as a team. He should be remembered forever for his contribution to coaching in England."

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
The vultures will be circling over Old Trafford tonight after another Man U defeat, losing 2-0 against Stoke. That's four defeats in a row, apparently their worse record since 1961.
Re: Premier League 2015-2016
If they kept Moyes they would probably have a better record by now. I don't like this mentality by fans or management to change managers quickly after a bad run. Two seasons is probably the correct balance....IMO.
