Hua Hin Restaurant News
Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
I popped into old Captain Dougs, now Oh La La Pizza, its still a bar, but serving pizza, from tomorrow evening.
They have half a dozen bright red scooters out the front so i suspect home delivery will be on the cards.
Decor looks quite nice, it used to look quite dark inside, owners have done a great job, lets see how long they last:)
I will pop in for a drink and a pizza tomorrow night and post any updates.

Is Terrace 90 closed for good, or opening again in high season? Didn't they have a Christmas buffet that many on here said was top notch....or was that a Thanksgiving buffet? Pete

There is a notice on their website saying that it will not be re-opening and thanking everyone for their support.

There is a new restaurant/bar on Soi 1 off Soi 112.(opposite 'The Vineyard') Olive Restaurant. Small but their Italian and Thai food is excellent. Very welcoming family who speak very good English. Only been open a week and I have eaten there a couple of times. Went with my family last night and nobody was disappointed.
Well worth a visit.

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
Found a very good restaurant across the road from the Bor Fai Temple - Soi 6, over the canal and turn immediately right and travel about 200 metres.
Excellent food - Thai and European. Good service and nice salas that allow you to sit in the shade. Really pleasant place to have lunch or dinner. So nice that I thought twice about posting it as we wanted to keep it to ourselves.
Run by a thai lady who has returned to Hua Hin to build and run this restaurant. She deserves support for the initiative she has shown. Try it - you won't be disappointed.
And, before the cynics out there even think about it, NO I have nothing to do with this restaurant apart from being a regular customer.

Does it have a name, or is it on its own such that you can't choose the wrong place - and at the 200 metre mark, is it on the Left or Right?Houdi wrote:Found a very good restaurant across the road from the Bor Fai Temple - Soi 6, over the canal and turn immediately right and travel about 200 metres.

Guys, somebody enjoying a meal at a restaurant IS NOT news. Please, if there is a name, start a dedicated thread so that people can benefit beyond the date of your post.

Re: Hua Hin Restaurant News
I see the new Sakura Restaurant, immediately next to the new food court has posted 5 Nov as it's opening night.
This will replace the existing restaurant on Soi 94.

Apologies for not adding the name of the restaurant. I didn't want to be unjustly accused of 'promoting' it.Big Boy wrote:Guys, somebody enjoying a meal at a restaurant IS NOT news. Please, if there is a name, start a dedicated thread so that people can benefit beyond the date of your post.
For those who asked for directions, I should perhaps clarify that it is exactly opposite the entrance to the Bor Fai Temple.
Finally Big Boy, I think that finding a good restaurant locally IS NEWS. At least, it is for for us, after 10 years living here.
Cheers

Wow, 10 years in HH before you found a good restaurantHoudi wrote:Apologies for not adding the name of the restaurant. Houdi, this is a forum, not Facebook. As the thread moves on to the next page, it will be lost Facebook style. People are unlikely to wade through pages of posts searching to see if somebody had a nice meal.Houdi wrote:Finally Big Boy, I think that finding a good restaurant locally IS NEWS. A forum gives so much more than the likes of Facebook - it gives you the opportunity to create a thread about something good (or bad ), and it will be in people's faces for a long time. People can benefit from your experience for years, rather than days. Assuming that you posted because you wanted to share your great experience, just step beck and think who you might be sharing that experience with. Is it the few hundred expats, who are resident here, and have probably already enjoyed the experience? Or are you trying to reach the thousands of visitors to our city - many of whom will not have even heard of Hua Hin yet?
Create a new thread with an eye catching headline - believe me, it works, and will definitely benefit the establishment you are talking about - in fact they'd be delighted if you started a brand thread about them.
