I don't get into town in the evening much these days, but I have a couple of friends coming in a month or so, which sounds like a good opportunity...

Don't do it d-m, it's only a dirty trick.
BTW - great result last night.

It was a good result and I think the early exchanges showed we could have comfortably won whether playing against 10 or 11 men. Here's hoping this win will finally kick start our season, which could shake things up a bit for other teams.

Well well, Arsenal lose a match to Chelsea and this thread kicks into life, whatever next.

Yes you started brightly, but you didn't exactly look comfortable for the majority of the second half that's for sure, quick panicky at times.caller wrote:It was a good result and I think the early exchanges showed we could have comfortably won whether playing against 10 or 11 men.
Let's hope so, especially against our rivals Man City and LeicesterHere's hoping this win will finally kick start our season, which could shake things up a bit for other teams.

Still quite baffling how a squad full of talent and experience can perform so poorly over the season so far.
Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Seriously? The game I watched featured a mostly ponderous Chelsea side unable to make the game safe despite playing against 10 men for 70+ minutes. Matic in particular was unimpressive and why Chelsea chose Courtois over Cech is quite beyond me. Or did Cech choose Arsenal/Wenger over Chelsea/Mourinho?caller wrote:It was a good result and I think the early exchanges showed we could have comfortably won whether playing against 10 or 11 men.

Choosing Cech over Courtois was for the longer term, but in the shorter term, I agree it was dumb.
It was a comfortable win for Chelsea, as you would expect, we had most possession, most shots blah blah blah. Arsenals only effort on target was a deflected shot. However, my issue about Chelsea this season is as I said at the outset, that tactically, we haven't progressed from last season and whilst we were blowing teams away in the first half of last season, the second half became a slog. I don't believe that is the only reason for this seasons problems, but it goes a little way to explaining why we didn't 'kill' Arsenal off yesterday. Mind you, Wenger was very generous in helping our cause by removing Giroud, which was hysterical.
Anyway, there's still quite a way to go yet in a league where the only consistency is being shown by Leicester!

It was a freak result, I ask you, 14th against 3rd, where is the logic as with many games this season. It was obviously a big game for Chelsea, it lifted them from 14th all the way up to erm, 13th, resulting in mass hysteria from the Stamford Bridgets.
Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Well, it obviously raised you out of your slumber, didn't it! Freak result my a**e!! What's the normal outcome of a Chelsea - Arsenal premier game? The record book shows it's business as usual more like. And after two successive draws, it was obviously a big game for Arsenal as well.arcadianagain wrote:It was a freak result, I ask you, 14th against 3rd, where is the logic as with many games this season. Premier League 2015-2016
The last three games confirms my belief that Arsenal under Wenger are incapable of winning the league.
Regardless who the opposition was on Sunday, we were beaten by the 14th placed team. They are 14th for good reason as the league doesn't lie at this stage of the season.
To draw in the fashion we did against Liverpool shows that although there have been improvements we still have the same deep rooted issues that have plauged us over the past decade.
The same slow, nervy start against Chelsea is nothing new.
This is the fault of Wenger. Nobody else.
I would happily eat my words if Arseanl manage to win the league this season. In fact it would be equally as pleasing as witnessing what has happened at Chelsea this season.

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Chelsea keep saying that they could make the top 4.Lets look at the arithmetic.
If Spurs (4th place)continue to accumulate points at the same rate as they have done so far they will finish with 69 points.
In order to reach 69 points Chelsea have to get 41 points.
That means in the remaining 15 games they must Win 13 and draw 2.

Indeed so,Daniel. Its not been easy supporting United this season and several times I have considered hurling myself to my death from the roof of my home only to remember I live in a bungalow !Dannie Boy wrote:LVG is certainly one of the strangest managers to have graced the Premiership - he has absolutely zero personality and I'd hate to be a Man U supporter with him in charge.

But if caller,a Chelsea fan,can remain so upbeat then I'm sure I can get through this until LVG leaves United !
