That's a bit like me saying Arsenal aren't a top team. I may be mildly irritated, but I'm not bitter.

Although a quarter of the season is now behind, it´s still early days and a lot can and probably will change but I just have to say (as them Spuds like to say): I just love the gap. Anyway, it will take some pressure away from the next game at Old Trafford.

Arsenal 10 13 25
Chelsea 10 8 20
Liverpool 10 7 20
Tottenham 10 4 20
Man City 10 17 19
Southampton 10 7 19
Everton 10 4 19
Man Utd 10 4 17
Newcastle 10 -2

Well, it's an unpredictable premiership season, that's for sure!

Unusually for us poor punters in the UK, we had three live games today (Sunday).

The Spuds failed to win as they didn't get a penalty and Krul in the Newcastle goal didn't have a bad game! Oh, and they're defensive line is too high, that cost them. Now let me think, where else did AVB use that?

Man City are a bit of an enigma this season, with 4 defeats already. They just seem unable to turn it on regularly, especially away from home. Albeit they were facing a very determined Sunderland. But even so, Man City will still be there or thereabouts at the end.

And what did we learn from the ManU v Arsenal game, apart from the fact Arsenal didn't turn up in the 1st half? Very little, I believe. Arsenal bossed the 2nd half, but didn't have a cutting edge and it was their 3rd big game in a week after Liverpool last week and their tough midweek game in Dortmund. It's still hard to judge how good or otherwise United are / were? But Moyes is very cautious as a manager and that could be holding them back?

Personally speaking, I was very grateful to Chelsea's referee yesterday! What seemed a dropped 2-points isn't quite so bad after all.

Will Liverpool and Southampton be able to keep up the pace? Everyone is tripping up from time to time.

My current opinions....get rid of the MC manager......do something to get Van Persie producing more like he did last season.....Andre Villas-Boas doesn't impress me too much, at least not as much as all the previous hype about his coaching ability......indeed Liverpool and Southampton will be exciting throughout the season IMO.....I really hope we don't see Fulham go down at the end. :( Pete

I don't want to see Fulham go down either. Coming from where I did, lots of friends were Fulham fans and as a kid, a great uncle lived in one of the roads leading to the ground. When Chelsea were away I used to go and have a cup of tea with him, then nip in to watch the 2nd half for gratis of whoever they were playing once they opened the gates, which was usually just after the start of the 2nd half.

When I was older and sometimes at a loose end on a Saturday afternoon, I used to go to the Cottage with the guy's in my local who were Fulham fans. This was when they were in whatever lower division they were in and before you always needed to buy a ticket in advance. We used to watch from the standing enclosure at the front of the old Leitch stand. They were generally crap!

More recently, I get tickets for when Chelsea play at the Cottage via a friend who is a season ticket holder there.

I've got a lot of the time for the club really and it's a great place to visit, always a good atmosphere.

^ It seems like a beautiful stadium and location. The property on the river must be worth a fortune if they ever decided to sell and move. Pete

So Citeh and the Spuds are the clubs in crisis now ! :rasta:
I,too, dont want Fulham to go down....nice club.... but they might have to get rid of Martin Jol sooner rather than later to ensure that !

:D OH WHEN THE SAINTS. :blues:

Mind, the next two matches will show if they really have the grit to keep up the form they have shown thus far this season, away to Arsenal then away to Chelsea.

With the three points they took at Liverpool and the one point at Man U, three players in the England squad, they seem to be riding high at the moment, it wouldn't surprise me if they get the job done.

So - didn't see the game again.

Apparently Newcastle have an octopus in goal - but no excuse - as I have said before we need to score goals. At this rate there will be no top 4 again..................

Well, I did see the game. At least, the bits of it when I didn't have my head in my hands.

Newcastle bossed the midfield in the first half, which is what allowed them to score. The reason for this was that AVB didn't start with Sandro. Sandro was our best player against Everton, but was subbed for Dembele on the hour. Dembele has been fairly ineffectual all season. Sandro has been a rock in midfield.

The stats for yesterday are unbelievable. 65% possession, 31 shots, 11 corners, 14 saves by Krul/Spiderman, but not a goal in sight. If this was a one-off, I'd roll my eyes and curse our luck, but it's been pretty much the same every game, and AVB seems to be in denial.

The only reason we're not completely out of the running already is that all the other top teams apart from Liverpool and the Arse are cocking it up as well.

What a cracking match Everton v Liverpool was.....3 goals in the first 19 minutes the Lukaku seemed to have won it for Everton with goals in the 70th and 80th minutes before Sturridge rescued a 3-3 draw for Liverpool with the equaliser in the 89th minute.
The match had everything....plenty of goalmouth incident and tackles flying in.....Mirallas should have been sent off in the first half for a very bad foul on Suarez.
But its games like this that make the EPL the most exciting to watch in the world.

At 8.30pm tonight Thai time its the meeting of those two "crisis" clubs :rasta: Citeh and the Spuds....if its half as exciting it should be great to watch !
