That one baffled me for a while as I've been involved and interested in aviation for my whole life and green crosses didn't ring any bells at all but after much digging, it leads to an interesting story that I wasn't aware of before:

Nice to baffle a aviation fanatic for a while. The next clue would have been 'Betty' which would have shortened the search.

^ Related in a way in that had dinner on Friday with some Japanese friends and we never talked about things before. Turns out the wife's entire family lived in Hiroshima outskirts during the war. To her knowledge only one was affected. Interesting conversation, and they actually wanted to talk about it more than I did. Pete
