Well, I for one don't agree with it at all. Quite frankly unworkable - yes, I understand the concerns over head injuries etc., but rugby is a physical game (or at least should be). The "Rose Petal Brigade" are moving more and more towards touch rugby!! :cuss: :banghead:

RFU to Provide 'Clarity' on New Tackle Laws in Coming Weeks Amid Criticism

"The Rugby Football Union says it will soon provide "clarity for the game" regarding the radical new tackle laws amid fears of a mass player exodus.

The tackle height will be lowered to the waist from next season for all levels apart from the Premiership and Championship.

The RFU says "detailed guidelines" will be sent out to players, coaches and referees.

"We understand this is a significant change," said a union spokesperson.

However, numerous clubs, players, coaches, and officials have expressed their concerns to the BBC, branding the law change unworkable, lamenting a lack of consultation, and fearing a mass player departure from the sport.

Manchester Rugby Club, in the fifth tier of the English rugby pyramid, say they have "real concerns" the move will "kill playing numbers for next year".

Sam Williams, captain of Wasps FC, the amateur arm of former professional club Wasps, said the reaction from his squad members had been "overwhelmingly negative, with most suggesting it will change their commitment to playing or make them retire/change sports altogether".

Hammersmith and Fulham RFC, in London 1, added: "A lot of players are angry that this decision had been taken with little-to-no consultation with amateur players themselves about what they want, and is being foisted on us in a very short time frame.

"It's not clear if this is a version of the game that anyone will want to play, especially as many are already fed up with the way the game is being managed today.""

Yes, I saw this yesterday and touch rugby is the first thing that came to mind. That's fine for 5-year-olds, but...

Repeating myself I know, but FFS the "Feeding of the Scrum" is absolutely ridiculous. I mean even the posture of the Scrumhalf clearly indicates he's putting the ball to the 2nd Row for Christ's sake!! :cuss: :banghead:

Where the hell is the refereeing on this issue? It's getting to the point where we may as well just have a bloody free-kick awarded instead of a scrum!! Ludicrous!!

 Sorry....

Oh hang on, whilst I've got my "Bitching Head" on, I (for the moment) have BT Sports who show many of the games in the UK and Europe - many of which are shown at the same time on different BT Sports channels - I'll therefore watch one and record the other one (possibly two). How grateful I am therefore for the fecking idiots in the BT Studio to give updates on the scores of other matches..... FFS!!! :cuss: :banghead: :banghead:

 yeah, yeah, OK - sorry!

It's getting ludicrous lindos - getting to the point where it will either become a completely new sport or simply "Touch Rugby"... Fecking @rsewipes sat behind their desks in their lovely blazers :cuss: :banghead:

And just to add to the list of idiotic bollocks... https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rug ... dium=email

"The Welsh Rugby Union has removed the song Delilah from its Principality Stadium choirs' playlist, it has announced. Sir Tom Jones' 1968 hit, about a jealous lover stabbing his unfaithful partner, has become a Welsh rugby anthem but will now not be played at the Principality Stadium and not sung by choirs. The Six Nations begins in Cardiff on Saturday.

The announcement comes after a damning week which saw the WRU come in for intense criticism amid allegations of a "toxic" culture and misogyny. Warren Gatland's Wales side host Ireland and England in Cardiff this year, and travel away to Scotland, Italy and France.

Delilah was recorded by Sir Tom in 1968 and reached No. 2 in the charts before going on to become a Welsh favourite among the rugby-loving public, but its place in modern society has been debated in recent years. One line reads: “I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door; she stood there laughing, I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more.”"

Doubtful many understand the lyrics (or the history of this song - it is based on true events). But how many other songs or anthems sung could be/will be classed as racist, homophobic or offensive to whichever clown pops out of the woodwork these days.....? The WRU have enough to sort out in house without making these laughable decisions! Personally, I'm sick and tired of this complete and utter bollocks! :cuss: :banghead:

Oh well, I'll step off the Soapbox before I fall off! Sorry

^^I disagree.

And there are other songs that should be banned.
Sweet Caroline: this is obviously about a heterosexual girl and therefore discriminates against homosexuals and those of a binary or generally confused nature.
Land of My Fathers: on the basis that it is a complete lie. Half of the Welsh were born in The Pacific Islands, South Africa, New Zealand and... England. :duck:
Sospan Bach: Because it makes no sense whatsoever.
Swing Low Sweet Chariot: unless you sing all the lyrics accompanied by the appropriate actions.
The National Anthem: because it's the British, not the English, anthem.

Thanks for including the Under-20s schedule, Pietro. Just watched the England-Scotland game, and after thinking at half-time it was just a question of how many England would score, it turned into a real nail-biter!

Some good attacking play, but unsurprisingly quite a few defensive errors from the youngsters.

Well strangely enough, I watched the Wales vs Ireland game  Very well contested first half, but Ireland largely controlled the second half - especially the last 15 odd minutes when they ran away with it. Despite the result, Wales showed some good skills and determination - though some dire defence though (not taking anything away from Ireland). Certainly some players for the future on both sides - especially the Irish Number 8 Gleeson (keep your eyes on him). Ireland are defending champions and have a hell of a powerful pack, which ultimately put paid to Wales - the amount of tackling required and power play by Ireland simply drained the energy from the Welsh (hence the last 15 minutes).

Anywho, still some positives which we desperately need at the moment!

Surprise, surprise!~ All of the 6 Nations matches (under 20 also) are being televised live and replay here in Thailand on TRUE 669. First time I can remember that they have covered the tournament in many years via beIN sports or Premier Sports Asia.

Usually they jump from the Rugby Championship to Super Rugby fixtures with nothing in between.

Sorry, but that's bollocks. The first half disaster was down to Ireland showing why they are the Number 1 Team in the world, Wales playing absolute shite and the odd contentious decision by the so called ref.

There are a few players to me for Wales that should be first on the team sheet at the moment (and in the past) - today, Biggar gives away an interception pass when we are close to the Irish tryline (on 20 mins when we had our really first touch of the ball!!), shortly afterwards - it's a Welsh Try!! NOPE - Biggar doesn't give out the pass for a clear try!
Faletau -the worst game I have ever seen him play! Penalties galore given away, handling errors - it's just not him.

The above is not down to the coach - poor play by the individuals and great play by their opponents putting them under pressure.

As for Wales....

Thomas Williams at Scrumhalf was absolutely crap - more so than he normally is! Slows down play and then gives back position to Ireland with a useless box kick - no, I'm not complaining about one incident, he did it on just about every scrum/ruck... GET RID!! Rhys Webb should have been there from the start - he certainly made a difference.

Ultimately, we were handed our collective arses by Ireland, but we did have some positives in players who stuck with it and gave their all... Dyer, Adams, Owens, Webb and Cuthbert all worth a mention.

Some shit referring decisions - how the hell did Williams get a Yellow Card and the Irish Prop Porter didn't? Down to 14, we gave a try away when Wales were starting to get some forward motion!
He missed numerous forward passes, obstructions and my pet hate feeding the scrums (of course both teams guilty).... This is hardly to say any difference to the result/scoreline, but refereeing standards need to improve!

Gatland his team and the players have a shit load of work to do. It was never going to be a quick fix, BUT..... Watch this space!!

You're going to have to clarify that for me. It didn't look like much of a welcome to me...
