Vaccines - Covid 19
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
After my experiences, this warning is probably timely. There are several fake Mor Prom apps out there (the middle app is correct).

OMG, I've just checked, and I'm registered for the vaccine. Crazy bit is, I'm not sure which bit actually worked for me, but I'm sure I owe a big thank you to hhinner.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
Thanks for the info. I entered mine a couple of days ago but as of this morning that website still responded with a bad id message in red. But seeing your post here, I just tried and it reports mine as registered now.
You should try getting into mo phrom because you'll want to make an appointment at some stage.

mo phrom still gives me the same message, so I'm hoping it is still under maintenance.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
If they follow the procedures of other countries, you don't get to make the appointment. They should contact you when your time is due.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
Yes, when my wife was registered on Saturday, it did say she would be contacted by phone with an appointment. I don't think the future is clear enough yet regarding when Hua Hin will actually get their hands on the vaccine, so appointments aren't possible yet. My wife was initially told to choose a date by the app, but every day in June + a few random dates through to the end of the year was unavailable.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
There’s an article this morning in the Thai Visa site saying foreigners over 60 and / or with vulnerable medical status CAN already register at local hospitals and community health offices (but not the Mor Prom app) for vaccination in June/July. It quotes unnamed officials and doesn’t provide any links to official documents or announcements. Has anyone here (without the pink ID or social security number) tried this out at a hospital yet?

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
This in Korat: The local public health volunteer came around the neighborhood this week encouraging people to register for a vaccination either using the Line application or at the local health clinic. She happens to be married to a foreigner of which there are five in our Moo Baan. She told us that the doctor who heads the local clinic had no information about registering foreigners. Therefore, foreigners can not be registered at this time. He said he would make further inquiries.

It was a nice dream while it lasted:
I guess more Thai programming being released with gaping holes in it.
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/ge ... TSUuOvS8RoHowever, the ministry was quick to deny that the government had any plans to give free jabs in June and July to foreigners aged over 60 with underlying health issues.

Our highly qualified health minister must have reported that the virus knows the difference between a Thai and a farang.

Local Covid-19 vaccine proves a success in trials on monkeys
A Chulalongkorn University doctor on Saturday announced tests of new locally produced Covid-19 vaccines on monkeys had proved successful.
Head of the Thai Red Cross Emerging Infectious Disease Health Science Centre, Dr Thiravat Hemachudha, said the latest vaccine, using proteins from tobacco leaves, had been tested on mice and monkeys with satisfactory results and will now go through a purification process before it is tested in human trials.
The vaccine is developed by a Thai company named "Bai Ya" according to Dr Thiravat.

Highlighting an ongoing problem with the government. Departments never talk to each other and consequently statements are issued by different departments and none of them are ever on the same page!
