Certainly caused fun and games in China......... :(

At least 12 people were killed and 27 injured as hailstones, lashing rain and gales pounded southern China's Guangdong province on Sunday, state media said.
The storms, which hit cities including Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan and Zhongshan, caused about 50 million yuan ($7.5 million) in direct economic losses, the ministry of civil affairs said, according to the official Xinhua news agency.

I hope today is/will be hot enough for all you folks who were whining and moaning about the cold weather last month. I was out at 8:30 a.m. in the yard and it felt like 2:30 in the afternoon already. The missus was reading the news and said they were predicting record breaking heat in many parts of Thailand today!

You'll find me in an air conditioned room all day with a cold beverage nearby!

Provinces, Bangkok hit by heavy rain

Rainstorms could persist for next couple of days

Many areas of the country, including Bangkok, will remain under the threat of rainstorms for the next couple of days, the Meteorological Department warned yesterday.

In its warning on summer storms issued yesterday, the agency said that many parts of Thailand, particularly the upper parts, were still covered with high-pressure ridges from China. This condition could result in summer storms in the North, the Northeast, the eastern seaboard region, and the Central region, including the capital.

Rainstorms could occur, with strong winds and the possibility of hailstorms in some areas from yesterday through tomorrow, according to the Meteorological Department.

Heavy rains hit many areas of Bangkok yesterday afternoon, causing severe flooding and traffic congestion on several important roads, including Phaholyothin, Ratchadaphisek, Chaeng Wattana, Kaset-Nawamin and Ngarmwo-ngwan.

The accompanying strong winds also caused electricity blackouts while in some areas trees were toppled.

In Chaiyaphum, His Majesty the King yesterday granted 440 relief bags to storm-affected residents in Kaeng Khro district.

Summer storms hit 13 tambons in eight districts early last week, including Kaeng Khro. The storm damaged 600 households, of which 440 are in tambon Ban Kaeng and tambon Nong Song of the district. Phorn Udomphong, head of the training department of the Rajaprajanugroh Foundation, handed out the relief bags to the 440 households in the two tambons at tambon Nong Song Municipality on behalf of the King.

Governor Jarin Jakkapak is seeking a budget from the Chaiyaphum Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office to repair 397 houses. The damage has been estimated at Bt1.5 million. The amount will be allocated next week to repair those houses.

Meanwhile, five residences were destroyed after a thunderstorm hit Loei's Chiang Khan and Nong Hin districts. The victims were given initial assistance, according to the Loei Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office.

In Saraburi, two hours of downpours led to heavy flooding in Kaeng Khoi district yesterday afternoon. Some sections of the Mitraphap Highway, which connects the Northeast with the Central region, were inundated due to floodwater coming down from nearby hills.

In the Central region province of Angthong, a slippery road caused by heavy rain was blamed yesterday for an accident in which a trailer truck slammed into a row of houses in Muang district.

The front part of the houses were damaged and a falling awning collapsed onto a car and a motorcycle parked below. There were no reports of injuries.

The truck driver, Banjerd Ketpong, said that while his vehicle was at a bend, the trailer at the rear swerved and hit a nearby power pole. The impact caused his truck to hit a pillar of the garage, causing its awning to collapse.

In this way you will never become acclimatized.
I use A/C never during daytime, only before going to bed to cool the bedroom down to 25 "C.
So I have no problems with the heat, but I had to get all my long-armed and long-legged clothes during the cold period in march.
It would be good if the water in the swimming-pool were colder, now it is more than 30"C.

In this way you will never become acclimatized.
Some people cannot acclimatize. I was outside in the blazing heat on my building site every day (8 hours a day, 6 days a week) for the first two years I was here and it did not acclimatize me one bit. Even at home then we only had a weak wall unit air con in one bedroom of our rental house so I was almost never in air conditioning for the first 30 months I lived here. It did not help. At the end of that 30 months I was just as wet and miserable 24/7 as I was at the beginning.

Just now I was outside in shorts and a T-shirt doing literally nothing in my yard and within 5 minutes (after dark) I looked like I had gone swimming in my clothes (not a dry spot on me) and had to put on a sweat band (like tennis players wear on their heads) because the sweat was burning the hell out of my eyes. It didn't even feel that hot as it was night, but my body cannot and never will be able to live in humidity like this. I rue the day I sold out and moved to the tropics. :(

Even my missus feels bad for bringing me here to live. She can see I was not made for this climate and wishes we had not moved, but we did it in such a way that it is nearly impossible to go back as everything we own is here now. Bringing all your wealth into and investing it in Thailand is a lot easier than liquidating and getting it back out.

Be warned anyone else who is planning to cut the cord all at once with finality like I did... make sure it's what you want years down the road when you can't go back. :banghead:

Well when I first came to Thailand I used to sweat buckets. Lost some weight and avoided the midday sun and either exercised early in the day or early evening. Now never use aircon and rarely fans and only break out in a sweat when in Isaan with high temps (37C+) and no wind.

Might have something to do with being on DVT medication that thins my blood though. I'm also small framed and don't carry much fat

Today has been especially muggy, I do not feel like doing much at all except sit under the fan. I am normally a person with not enough hours left in a day. I have no energy whatsoever, I do not even feel like eating much which is unusual for me.
Hope tomorrow will bring a little breeze :)

It's damn hot today. Played golf on Tuesday, walked the beach to Khao Takiab on Weds, Thurs and yesterday, playing golf tomorrow and Tuesday.
This morning, I feel it. I'm dehydrated so it's going to be air-con heaven today, plenty of water and try not to drink too many beers. If I don't get a "rest day" today and again on Monday I bet I'll fall over on Tuesday.
I'm getting old.

I wish, but unfortunately that last couple of days have been some of the hottest I can remember. I think we need rain to cool things down a bit but the usual (for this time of year) passing afternoon showers haven't materialized as yet.

OK, it must be an error on the site that provides the forum's weather picture. This is what I'm seeing:

Yes, Big Boy, couldn't be further from the truth. It's more like 30 degrees and nothing but bright sunshine.
