OK I'll give it a shot, not a real tough one for you whizs

I was one of seven. Our plan succeeded and ultimately, through a chain of events, affected the world with a huge tragic event.

I made a few mistakes as to my part, my original attempt failed, I was late
After, when I knew the cops were after me (yes a criminal action) I tried to kill my self, but only succeeded in getting wet, and sick

Which of 7 am I??

Just to tie this one up: Nedeljko Čabrinović

He threw the first grenade and missed. He then took a cyanide pill and threw himself into the river. Unfortunately for him, the pill was way past its sell by date and the river was only 4 inches deep...
