good thought, used to have that or similar on trees back home to stop the possums

We have them in Moo1 Hin Lek Fai ( Soi Udomsuk)on the electricity posts

Well this one decided that frog for breakfast was a nice choice
its one snake, and a biggish one

you have allayed my fears somewhat
it does look like an Oriental Rat Snake
the frog was dispatched, thinners poured into the sprinkler valve area
but after being out for a while, on returning ,its back.
apart from the spade, what other deterrents might work

It's harmless (unless you are a frog :D). It will go of it's own accord. Be aware, it is a protected species.

another protected species, unlike us humans...
pity i could not capture an image of a lime green snake i surprised resting in the shade on the grass

And when they decide to go, they really go, especially when startled. I would say 3 meters + in a second. A lot of Thais mistake it for a cobra and form a lynch mob to track it down and kill it. Sad.

I get them here in the driveway a few times a year searching under lawnmowers and garden things. Their search method is really interesting to watch if they don't see you watching.

It seems that the snake that caused the blackout the other evening had a " friend ", also up the powerpole on one of the fuses
i guess their activity caused the problem
PEA took away the one they found but i just found this other deceased one at the base of the power pole
cant seem to identify this one
