Re: premiership 2008/9
Strange that myself and my friends were also gutted that Riley was the Ref then. He certainly doesn't favour Liverpool, he's just completely incompetent.baron_wastelanduk wrote:here is my tuppence worth

And lets be honest, Liverpool were better in every area before the sending off.

Caller, when did John Terry move to Warrington?

Nice to hear from you Baa Baa, you`ve been a bit quiet lately, but then Liverpool did win yesterday.
I think Chelsea have more to worry about than Arsenal, I noticed the 'Scolari out' banners yesterday.
Is it only Arsene Wenger who can`t see that Eboue and Bendtner are liabilities? Hurry back Eduardo, Rosicky, Fabregas and Walcott.

Just got back to UK, in Hua Hin all over Xmas/newyear so didnt spend much time on the internet.Arcadian wrote:Nice to hear from you Baa Baa, you`ve been a bit quiet lately, but then Liverpool did win yesterday.
Sorry if you missed me.
Premiership 2008 2009
Of course you were missed Baa Baa, especially your banter with Super Joe with his eternal optimism of a Spurs fan and your desperation to topple United, add that to the fatalistic pessimism of Ronezonerocker and myself plus the Chelsea fans` expectation to win everything and you have an interesting second half of the season.
Still not heard from any Man U fans though, perhaps London yuppies and spotty glory hunting youths have not heard of HHAD!

Very sorry Redzonerocker, my keyboard has been adapted from a French configuration to QWERTY and I got confused, particularly as Mrs.A was hastling to go shopping.
Just heard on Sky News that Scolari has been sacked from Chelsea!

Adams and Scolari sacked - maybe they will swap!
No-idea what's happening with the Chels, but clearly after the early season optimism, things have been going from bad to worse.
Steve Sidwell, now of Villa, talked admiringly of his time with Chelsea and reflected that he had never worked so hard as a professional player. Training taking place the day after returning from euro games and the like. Yet the stories coming from the training ground recently have consistently been of the training not being hard enough! Players complaining about not being worked hard enough????
Is it Wilkins, Scolari or others? But Wilkins was there before and a lot of players first came good when he was training them?? Who knows?
Or as many suspect, is it the fact Clarkey is no longer there? Let's get the dream team of Zola/Clarke back, or just bring back the special one.
Either way, or a third way, some stability is needed.
Feel sorry for Adams at Pompey. Not really given a chance and the teams best players being sold from under him. Amazing to think if they could have held on to that lead against the scousers for the last 5 minutes on Saturday, that he would still be in a job.

Talk is cheap
My hunch is that he went because of his body language! At the start he was all bonhomie and smiles, now he's all hunched and frowning! Ex greats Hollins and Nevin reckon he wasn't up to the strain of managing in the premiership, I reckon he picked the wrong teams!
Malouda has been crap all season, Boswinga started strong but has got weaker and weaker, God only knows why we allowed Cudicini to leave, or Wright-Phillips, who always offered something different, Ballack is lame, Deco like his boss, started well but faded and of course we have had injuries, but the balance of the squad isn't right.
Love Scolaries agent, complaining about an ageing Chelsea team, so who was Scolari's first signing? Deco, not exactly the right side of 30.
Shame though as it all seemed very promising and it now appears the man at the top demanded he goes, so maybe Grant will come back?!?!
