Assuming that you're not on holiday again, what is the source of your information please? I've got to pay the Grand kids' school fees soon, and I'd like to be sure I get the best deal at the Thai end,
It will ask you if you are willing to pay the fee anyway before you complete the transaction.
I hope the bankers will end this charge. Because it will not gain the tourism business in the long run. Thailand can not afford to lose more foreign visitors. This unvise move are now spreading as a fire in a dry forest. I also hope that the leaders of the industrilised world will bann this gready act, and punish Thailand for it`s greed. Maybe we should charge 10% extra for all exports to Thailand. Maybe we should doubble our oil-prices.

Was that a Nationwide card?lomuamart wrote:I took money out of a Krung Thai ATM at my local 7-11 yesterday and there were no charges this end which contradicts what BaaBaa reported.
My GF tried Yesterday and Today to withdraw using my Nationwide Card, pin OK, selected amount of money and it just returns the Card, no cash.
She's tried several ATMs and has used it in the past.
Nationwide can't see a problem and I dont get to Thailand for 5 weeks.

I'm not sure with Nationwide, but my card is periodically blocked as it has been used for too long in Thailand. All I have to do is call a security department number in the UK, answer some questions and it's unblocked 15 minutes later. Maybe that's the problem your g/f is having? UK banks are very wary of their cards being used in Thailand now. This country has one of the highest rates of credit and debit card fraud in the world.
Might be worthwhile trying to get Nationwide's security number and trying to sort it out out at the UK end. However, if the card is in your name, I'd be very careful about telling them that the g/f is using it. That probably breaks their T&Cs and the card could be canceled altogether.
do you think everybody in this forum compare to GBP, I do not think so. I got 5.3 thb to my Norwegian Crowns today. This is of course of no interest for others than norwegians. Do you think the UK is the world center. Think again. You are i Thailand now stupid !JimmyGreaves wrote:Nationwide debit (blue), bank of ayudthya today, no problem, no charge, good rate 51.56

You undoubtedly outnumber us in Hua Hin, but we undoubtedly outnumber you on this forum. I don't think that makes anyone stupid...lazerlab wrote:. I got 5.3 thb to my Norwegian Crowns today. This is the way
I had a similar problem a while ago with my daughter using my card. When I phoned, I explained that she was in Thailand for a while (did not let them know she was there permanently). They warned me of the risks, and got me to confirm that I accepted the risk. The card was then unlocked. However, if the card is in your name, I'd be very careful about telling them that the g/f is using it. That probably breaks their T&Cs and the card could be canceled altogether.
