Tiger is only good when brewed in Singapore. I believe Thailand and China now brew it up under license. Certainly the most common and less good in the UK is Tiger from China. Not that the price has reduced (con).
I have to confess to looking forward to quaffing a cider in LOS, not done that before.

I could be wrong on this but I think the Tiger Brewery is the old Carlsberg brewery, which is the old, original Amarit brewery. Tiger here is not bad for a change of pace and is better than Leo or other local lighter beers IMO. It's consistent in taste where others are not always.
Actually, after a hectic drive back from Bangkok we stopped to pick up some Thai take-a-way and I downed 3 cans of Archa. I didn't find it too bad, but it could have been my nerves just needed alcohol. Pete

Enjoyed several pints of the liquid gold during my last visit thanks to many responses on this post - very belated thanks guys.
Did also manage to pick up a couple of cases from Halex during my last visit...... any news on whether Halex is still operating? Or whether there's anywhere else (outside the pubs) I can get my hands on some (heading back on the 18th for Christmas and the New Year)?

I stopped drinking beer a few years back...........now its Cider, whisky or Gin..............makes for some serious effing hangovers...........
I used to drink draught Strongbow in LoS but as this was distributed by Guinness here they decided if they stopped the Draught SB...........then they would sell more of the black stuff....................only in LoS.........
Now I drink the small bottles of SB which cost me a fortune...........

I had a bottle of "Brothers" Toffee apple cider the other day here in UK, may taste about the same. Too sweet for me to drink more than 1 pint though.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
Living in SW China I rarely get a cance to sample the wonderful nectar and was hoping I could rectify that next week.
I'm working in Somerset at the moment; do you want me to do some research for you?
Steve, I could tell you exactly where to go..... in Somerset I mean! At the moment, the majority of the family are in and around the Bath/Bristol area - I was there for around 8 years I guess from 12/13 onwards, hence the love of cider. Cheers anyway!!
