Miked:
Are you actually building a house or just imagining doing it. Is your plan for a bungalow? 10+10+5+5 = 30 not 60
double 25 cm brick wall with a 5 cm vented cavity.
read wrong. I hope your plans are clearer - Thai builders you know

yes why not, brick houses are designed to a brick coursing chart and 2mm on each brick over a distance throws openings, walls and piers out.

i wouldn't build to that spec. if you disagree with that then i don't think your an idiot, i know it - What specification would that be then miked, splitlid hasn’t given us one :?

And any old idiot knows half a dozen structural details does not make a spec, hey

25 cm posts should have 6 x 16mm rebar. anything less than that just isn't strong enough – LOL, strong enough for what exactly, a heli-pad? splitnob did tell us yesterday that … "the column size and steel size will be dependant on what loads they are taking from above." You are aware that the client has specifically asked for a light-weight synthetic roof aren’t you. You did check didn't you??

So WHY are you wasting the ficticious client's money? Just to try and appear smart by designing aspects of a house without a spec :banghead:

Ok, so you made a bit of a faux-pas putting the ground floor on the roof, no need to go digging yourself a swimming pool hole though, we're not doing pools until Friday. You've made a complete fool of yourself in 24 hours, nice one

Maybe take a while the internet slows down a bit around this time whilst Google has his tea

The three little pig guide to house building must have inspired Miked :)

^ :D definately.

giving wrong information about what time a bus leaves is accepted, and normal.

wrong information on something as important and as expensive as a house build should not be tolerated. :D

couldn't agree more. i cetainly am not going to post pictures. when did i say i value your opinion.??? i am honestly shocked at the standard that you build at.

if you build less than that i am very surprised. thought you better than that.

what happens in the future if that roof is replaced with a concrete tiled roof.??? or do you expect the roof to out last the house.?? probably.

Good to see the fun police are out in force.
Yes it's good to know that you know it poosmate.
The problem is; I wasn't talking about you but another guy who used the word "idiot" and for some reason and I don't like it, nor do I accept such language on HHAD.
If anybody want to continue this discussion in Norwegian I'm quite ready to do so, but if you can't speak a second language then don't even try!!
And yes, this is still as a warning to keep this quite interesting thread fresh and alive.

The house will be structurally unsound and may fall down. It was designed with a spec to accept a certain type of roof and should be replaced if necessary like for like.

What will happen if I replace my Nissan Cubes engine with one of those from a Hummer?

Still waiting for some proof of the Thai building Regulation that sparked my interest initially. :?

Oh my gawd, so now your 'not strong enough' point has shifted from the load, to the rebar. It's funny everytime you fail to answer what you base your sizing on, not easy of course considering there was no info to base it on. And if you believe that only these sized columns will support a typical steel/CPAC roof then there are a good few roofs due to implode any day soon

Oh good, the penny has dropped. Yes, we are unaware aren't we, 'spec'less remember, so it was only your assumption wasn't it.

No, but if I were a betting man I reckon plastic has a good chance. Your walls are too thin mike, what happens in the future if global warmin....zzzzzz

Having reviewed MD I concede my reading error and apologise for the 60 cm misunderstanding. Perhaps post some example plans???? And the regs ???

Anyones opinions on spacial crossbinding differentials would also be welcome.
