Hello from newbie with big plans

Some Jehova's Witnesses came by yesterday. Pulled up and stopped the truck directly in front of sargeant's house. They only wanted to talk to him and me. As it turns out they go through neighborhoods searching out farangs, asking local Thais where farangs live and such.

They were nice enough and not too pushy so I was polite. When they were leaving I asked about any other farangs in the neighborhood. They haven't found any except a German who has a house by 'the second red light'. We had ridden out there looking for his house last week. So, a group that is actively seeking farangs in the neighborhood found sargeant and me and no one else.

It's me the Original Poster again! After a whirlwind selling everything, wrapping up my job, selling the house and many hours on planes and trains, I'm here in Hua Hin. I'm living in the Tira Tiraa building, bought my scooter yesterday and am eating my way around town.

I see the next quiz night at JWs is on August 15, so I'll be sure to go and hopefully meet up with the folks here who provided advice to help me with my decision. I think I owe a few cold beverages!

Glad to hear you made it - we'll be at the quiz night and also have room for you to join.
