Apologies Pete but that chart means nothing to me as it's mainly in Thai and just adds to the overdose of stats and figures we receive daily resulting in the thread losing it's impact.

Look at the symbols in each corner and it becomes quite evident.
i.e. Prison Gates
Thai flag for local cases
A globe for foreign cases
The black ribbon for deaths
A syringe for vaccines
Green cross for recoveries
Hospital bed for cases being treated
Picture of a hospital for those in hospital
A tent for those in 'hospitels', at home, other
The white figure for serious cases
The symbol below for those on ventilators

Walk in (in English) are related to cases resulting from walk in tests
The magnifying glass for cases from active testing
ATK (in English) are positive cases from 'home tests' These cases are not included in the national figure which I think is important.
It makes the real cases found much higher that the gov would have us believe. Today that knocks the total figure to over 16,000

Simple!!

It gives all the figures needed in one chart and you can pick and choose which you consider relevant.

Agree to disagree but I don't have a Thai reader in my household so whilst some of it is self evident a lot of it is pure guesswork and we get these figures anyway from other posters. Just my view mate.

I don't think ATK tests are necessarily home testing as they were featured before home tests were available. Anyway there's nearly 7,000 positive ATK tests today, which are not counted in total positives until verified by follow-up PCR.

Only symptomatic cases are verified with a PCR. Considering that most cases are asymptomatic, the majority of ATK infections will never appear in the national figure.

Ok I'll agree to disagree also. I do have Thai readers in the house but in this case I've not needed them as I found that all the boxes are symbolised and colour coded. 'Other posters' include Pete who puts a lot of work into his daily posts. This enables him to post once, early in the day and carry on with his life.

I, personally, found the chart to be excellent and designed for non-thai speakers as well as Thais. There are multiple language speakers on this forum who so far have had to rely on English. In this case, we have to remember our kindergarten time when everything was in pictures.

Expand on "a lot of it is pure guesswork". I can't see that.

Comments reference the above. As with everything on here, read what you want to read and not what you don't want to read.

When new Covid cases get to 2,000 or lower daily, we'll go to weekly reporting, so hopefully that won't be too far away. Hopefully by mid 2022 we can retire these threads completely.

Note: As mentioned yesterday, the NBT English language chart if and when it's published will be inserted into the morning post each afternoon.

The MOPH chart from this morning has been translated above. It's now the daily default report.

(Hinner or other Thai language readers please kindly let me know if any category names are off?)

I'm done with the NBT data as their publishing time is unpredictable. If anyone wants to see the NBT chart go to: https://www.facebook.com/nbtworld Sometime after 1300 hours daily.
