Another eventful and action packed NLD

Would have taken a point before the game once I saw the team sheet.
Was feeling calm, collected and quite confident at 0-1, until the stupidity of the red card.
I wouldn't say we would have gone on to win with 11, crystal ball preditions ain't my thing, but we did look comfortable.
Seemed all over at 2-1 but the spuds couldn't land the killer blow and we nicked a point, deservedly I have to add.

As we approach the second week in March, Leicester are 5pts clear of the spuds at the top, 8pts ahead of us and a possible 7pts ahead of Man City (if they win their game in hand).
Who'd have thought it at the beginning of the season eh ? . . . . . . . I mean the spuds 2nd   :D

It seems like it's Leicester's title to lose, they will drop points but they have points to spare.
For any of the chasing pack to catch them would need a nigh on perfect run in, all wins with maybe one or two draws.

With West Ham and manure hovering to gatecrash the CL spots, it adds even more spice to the run in.
Strap yourself in, it's gonna be a rollercoaster run in!!

Jesus wept, did anyone watch the Palace game? Talk about a team - Palace - imploding! They just fell apart after being a goal up against 10 men, firstly the keeper gifted an equaliser, then they were all over the place, running around like headless chickens before conceding a last kick of the game penalty. They're going to be reliant on the teams below them to keep losing to avoid the drop, because they have next to nothing to offer. No idea what's gone wrong there, but they started the season so well. They're all pace and no ball control.

Lindos, they're you're team, what's happened?

Palace fans deserve better. I wonder how long before Adebeyor reverts to his moody normal self.

Good advice, I could wear them outdoors as well as there's still plenty of snow around.

I think you're both being a bit harsh on both teams. Liverpool played much better with 10 men than they did with 11. The Palace keeper made an awful error for the equaliser, and the last second penalty was dubious, to say the least. Palace didn't settle for the draw, and in the last few minutes Liverpool looked as though they had.

Good game to watch.

I just saw a team in panic mode. I thought they lost all shape and were spread all over the pitch when they needed to be compact. I think it was arcadian, when taking of Chelsea, that the table doesn't lie, well just look at Palace's form.

Well, why didn't we know the reason behind Leicesters recent success. Of course, it's an amulet.
Amulet secret to Leicester’s success?

THE NATION March 10, 2016 1:00 am

SEVERAL FACTORS might be behind Leicester City’s unexpected ascent to the summit of the English Premier League, but the assistant abbot of Traimitr Withayaram Temple points to the cloth amulet specially designed for the Thai-owned club.

The Midlands club have been undoubtedly the revelation of the season after they spent much of the current campaign at the top of the standings ahead of English football's traditional powerhouses.

The Foxes are also known for being superstitious, with Thai owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha regularly inviting Phra Phrommangalajan to visit King Power Stadium to give his players spiritual support.

Better known as "Chao Khun Thong Chai", he was convinced that Leicester would clinch their first ever top-flight title come May.

"I made the fabric amulet with the club's crest on it to lend them moral support. It's something we can't cast off.

"Everyone uses sport science and they all do the training. But, why do they perform well on one day and poor on the other? It's all about the morale [of the team]," he said.

He then poked fun at a reporter after learning which side he supported.

"Why Liverpool? Why not Leicester? They're gonna be the champions," said the monk, enticing laughter among the media.

I've got a nasty feeling that whilst Leicester should thump Newcastle next Monday, NUFC might just try to turn it on in a last ditch attempt to avoid relegation/keep SM in a job - I just hope they fail in both respects.

Just as a matter of interest, and not being a particularly knowledgeable follower of Wendyball, what do Newcastle UTD stand to lose if they are relegated? TV/SAT rights, players departing etc.?

I'm not sure of the exact amount, but I think the TV rights are worth close to £100m by staying in the Premiership - there are some cushioning payments to those relegated but it's nowhere near the amount they get by staying up. The other problem is that unless they've been very canny with contracts, relegated Premier teams end up paying players well above Championship salaries.
