Guests flee fire at quarantine hotel
About 80 foreign visitors fled from the hotel where they were being quarantined when a fire erupted in the basement on Wednesday night, sending black smoke through the building.

The fire at the Siam Mandarina Hotel Suvarnabhumi on King Kaew Road in Bang Phli district was reported to Bang Kaeo police station about 9pm.

Ten fire engines and crews were rushed to the scene. They had the blaze under control in about 30 minutes.

The fire began in an old snooker club that was being used as a storage room.

Hotel manager Nattawut Arunanonchai said the club had been closed for nearly two years since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

The snooker club did not suffer major damage, police said.

They found melted wall power outlets and burned wiring in the room, and attributed the blaze to an electrical short circuit. There were no injuries.

The hotel is providing an alternative quarantine service for people arriving from abroad.

 I wonder if their covid insurance covers dodgy Thai electrics catching fire!

The UK government has announced it will further relax travel rules from Monday, October 7 - opening up many long-distance holiday destinations to travellers for the first time since the pandemic pandemic a year and half ago.

As well as dramatically whittling down the number of places from which travellers will be required to quarantine in a hotel, the government said it would recognise the vaccination programmes of dozens more countries.

In its most dramatic move, it said it will be lifting the hotel quarantine requirement for arrivals to England from 47 countries, including South Africa, Mexico and Thailand.

Good news, now you have to deal with the shitfight getting back in!

Only 4 vaccines approved and no Sinococktails - (Pfizer/BioNTech, Oxford/AstraZeneca, Moderna, Janssen (Johnson and Johnson))

Mixing, yes - but only with the 4 listed vaccines, which don't include the two Sino's.

Yes. But Sino is only a matter of time. Unless UK doesn't want all those wealthy fee paying Chinese students. Of course, it's still possible that mixing Sino with others won't be accepted.

Is there one place to find a statistic that shows the percentage of infected for each province compared to the provincial population since the last outbreak started?

Thank you

I don't think anything like that exists, or if it does it's never been published that I've seen. We'll keep our eyes open.
