I'm happy to claim that we are the best team in England, we just won the league. Clearly there is still work to do, that's the bonus - it's a developing team, not the finished article.

As for Barca, without doubt a brilliant team, but Chelsea don't get beaten 3-0 there. In fact we have a nasty habit of upsetting them, just as we did in the Champions league semi-final before going on to beat Bayern Munich in the final. We're not too far away.

I've forgotten who you support, so you're off the hook there, but this comment really is so dumb.

This was the post Villa-Boas side, you know the guy that tried to get Chelsea to play a high pressing style without considering whether the players at his availability could actually do that. He went on to do the same at Spurs, to the same end result - he got sacked at both clubs.

Chelsea were in a bit of a mess when RDM stepped in with immediate effect, beating Valencia (if memory serves me right) 4-0 to overturn a 3-0 deficit. I would certainly agree that we, in some respects, were weaker than both Barca and Bayern at that time and didn't really have any option other than to play the way we did.

And as Arcadian claimed - stats can sometimes be misleading - after all, we won, didn't we.

Mourinho has some interesting views about possession football, you should seek them out.

And having a swipe at Chelsea when it was nothing to do with them.....is there a conspiracy against Chelsea on this forum, readers ? :rasta:
:thanks: youre so right that I'm a United fan and have been since late 60's so that should leave the plastic fan card in the pocket, but maybe because I'm from Denmark I'm not allowed to be fan of a engish club as someone here stated long time ago, can't remember who and really just funny.

Actully I hoped that Arsenal could win the PRL when We coulden't,because I really don't like The Whiner One, and his oh they all after us behavior, but at least most people who like football will not remember Chealsea as a great club that play exiting football.

Absolutely astonishing.... A) Why would anyone in the right mind pay that to see Wendyball  ..... and B) I thought selling tickets above face value was illegal (although I obviously know it happens..) - if they're being sold online, surely the culprits can be found?

Steven Gerrard: Liverpool v Crystal Palace tickets cost up to £1,324

"Tickets for Steven Gerrard's final home game for Liverpool this weekend are on sale for more than £1,300.
On Tuesday, the prices on ticketbis.net ranged from more than £100 to £1,324.64 before the captain's farewell against Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday.
Tickets at that top price in the Main Stand normally sell at £47 for what is a Category C game.
Gerrard, 34, ends a 17-year career with the Reds next week at Stoke, before he moves to MLS club LA Galaxy."

With all due respect, I'm not a Wendyball supporter, but I do recognise decent sportsmen, and I firmly believe Gerard is one. Whilst I have major problems with the salary levels these guys are on in comparison to the likes of rugby, fair play to him and I hope all goes well in the States.

I can only add to the well wishes for Steven Gerrard in his final home game. One of the finest midfielders of the last generation and a true legend for Liverpool FC.
Yes,it would be ironic if he didnt get picked or if he was sent off after 30 seconds or if he slipped in the penalty area.....but none of those things will happen will they ? :duck:

He's obviously been very well paid by Liverpool, but resisted the temptation to look for more at Chelsea or Real Madrid and remained a one team man, so rare these days. a pity that he missed out on winning the Premiership last year or the FA Cup this year, but one of the greats of the last generation. Here hoping he signs out with a memorable last performance at Anfield today.

I'm not a Scouse fan in any way but I respect Steve Gerrard because he has stayed loyal to his team even when better offers have been put on the table for him. There are not many players like him any more. One of the last of the dying breed, the last of the Mohicans. Sort of.
