He gave out the number for the MFA for Thailand Pass or other entry enquiries.

Last week, I spent one hour in the queue (I'm not joking - one hour!). Eventually it was answered. As soon as I mentioned Thailand Pass, she interrupted me telling me that they know nothing about the Thailand Pass and I should call the hotel. What can the hotel tell me FFS? Then she said that you have to call direct to the DDC then. "We can't tell you anything about the Thailand Pass or any other scheme." I checked with her that I am connected to the MFA which she confirmed. I was beginning to lose my rag so passed the phone to a Thai. After a further 5 mins, the cow hung up on us.

Yes. That's the number I rang (...8442). It's advertised on the net for the number to call. I made no mistake. It's still on my phone log showing just how long the call was.

And it’ll no doubt get higher before it starts to reduce again - hopefully they’ll be no knee-jerk reactions in the meantime!!

it seems to be escalating rather rapidly
hopefully its just a blip on the radar, or it may well blow up into HUGE numbers as experienced now in so many countries, but its most interesting as to why it has not ballooned here, so far
hang on to your hats...
