We also have the unknown factor of rural and slum people who get very sick and just stay at home, and
sometimes just die of this disease.
But do people actually die of/from the disease or with the disease ?? I do wonder

as there's a big difference in the cause of death
That's the question of the century and I think each country has their own way of counting. China for example almost no one dies of Covid, but with Covid. It's really a hospital level decision to start with, and they may or may not be under instructions from their government to say this, and not say that. IMO, it's all a big mess.

Maybe I don't understand the new Thailand Pass procedures effective May 1 well enough. How did they yesterday record 58 imported cases when I thought they are not doing any kind of arrival testing any longer?

OK, there is no arrival testing any longer for fully vaccinated arrivals. I guess these 58 and the numbers to follow on the chart in the future we can assume they are not vaccinated.
Why would anyone travel to a foreign country and not be vaccinated. Supremely stupid.

I agree 110%, but I know quite a few that are still opting to quarantine, rather than jab.

Well cheers to them when they check into Hotel Rip Off with attending money sucking partner hospitals.

As I said, I agree 110%. We've just had a friend who quarantined instead of vaxxing. He actually thought his wife would talk the authorities around. We have a friend currently in quarantine. A friend arriving in a couple of weeks is coming without vaccination - reckons she is too busy to get vaccinated

. I could go on.
All totally bonkers. Accepting imprisonment rather than getting jabbed.

Is the reason medical or philosophical?

The people I am talking about have no medical reason, unless stupidity can be classed as medical, not to get vaccinated.

Since 1 May the unvaccinated can enter by air without quarantine provided they have a negative RT-PCR test at most 72 hours before traveling.
* Unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated travelers who wish to be exempted from quarantine must attach a negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before travel in Thailand Pass, including unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated children aged 6 - 17 who travel with unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated parents (children aged under 6 do not have to attach the test result). Please be advised that this does not apply to children aged under 18 who travel with fully vaccinated parents who will be automatically granted the same entry scheme as their parents'.

OK, still pretty stupid for those that travelled before 1st May.

I fully expected the figures to start reducing to coincide with yet another re-opening of the Country. It seems the way things are done here.

OK, what that says to me is that the 58 imported cases that showed up on Monday's numbers apparently didn't have the 72 hour RT-PCR test, and tested positive upon arrival. Or, I guess they could also be prior arrivals who tested positive during their quarantine period.
