Man U did

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Exactly - IMHO the only team who used to be successful at replacing legends with another legend in recent(ish) history were Liverpool, and even they fell by the wayside in the end. Modern managers are there for the money - it seems to me that many know if they do a crap job, they'll be out on their ear with a hefty payout. Poor old LVG must be wondering what else he has to do to secure his Golden Handshake.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd
Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Well done United. You scraped a win against the powerhouse that is villa... *snigger*
For one day only, I am a supporter of the only club that's named after two things that ISIS hates.

Come on the hammers.

You can quote all the stats that you want BG - but c'mon - your lot should really have beaten Palace today, and they didn't.Bamboo Grove wrote:Arsene Wenger's trophies at Arsenal:

FA Community Shield (6): 1998, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2014, 2015
Never outside the top for in EPL, 17 consecutive times qualified from the group stages of CL.
Now, what did you get for Christmas, Terry?
I love these piccies of your hero.

BTW - I got a lovely bottle of 18 yr old Highland Park Single Malt for Christmas and I'm sipping it week by week as the season goes on.
Where did I put my Big Mac ?

Come on Terry. Having little digs at the Arse and Wenger is one thing. But following your post with a little picture belittling the man is another. Us Spurs lot should be above those kind of cheap shots by now.

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Just finished watching the game (woke up late for it). It was an important win, not simply to keep the pressure on Leicester, but to get rid of those 'Monday Night Blues' that we have suffered from in the past seeing as we have two more Monday fixtures coming up.
0-4 to the Spurs. We were not as clinical in front of goal as usual (Alli hit the post with an open goal - made up for it with a brace) but, as is with creating so many chances, we managed to get enough to go in. Should have been 2 or 3 more, mind.
Leicester still have to play United and Chelsea I believe.
Could it happen? Could we lift that trophy? I doubt it, but it would be a win for 'football' if we did.

I doubt it too, but I'll be chuffed to bits with 2nd, and looking forward to another title challenge next season.
This is a fantastic Spurs squad, with a great attitude under a really good manager.
Reasons to be cheerful!
Looking at the remaining fixtures for the 2 clubs, I'd say Leicester have to be 1/2 for the title, and Spurs 2/1. A long way from impossible but it's Leicester's title to lose.

And a title challenge I'm sure it will be. It's funny, I was looking at the squad playing this morning, and there isn't a single position that I'd want someone else. Over the break, we literally don't need any signings. With an average age of 24 for the team, the manager simply has to keep doing what he's doing with the same squad. The Euros would usually interrupt practice but, as 4 Spurs players are almost certain to be in the starting 11, it gives them even more time playing together.dtaai-maai wrote:I doubt it too, but I'll be chuffed to bits with 2nd, and looking forward to another title challenge next season.
Happy days indeed and bloody well done that man Pochettino.

I think the fact that Leicester will lose Vardy for at least one but probably two games gives Spurs more of an edge than you give them credit and now I think it's much closer, maybe Leicester 5-4 on but Spurs 4-5 against. In fact, if Leicester don't win their next game at home, I reckon that will make Spurs favourite. Anyway whoever wins or comes second, both teams should be relatively happy, albeit miffed at missing out by probably just the odd point.dtaai-maai wrote:I doubt it too, but I'll be chuffed to bits with 2nd, and looking forward to another title challenge next season.

Re: Premier League 2015-2016
Tend to agree with comments from GLC, d-m & Danny Boy and here's something that I picked up on F/B
"Whether we win the title or not this season we will be challenging for it for the next 5 years. Spent £0 net on players over the last 5 years, remarkable achievement and a lesson to the likes of Chelsea, ManU, ManC and Arsenal. Best Spurs side for 50 years."
I'm sincerely hoping that the vultures with the fat wallets out there, don't break up the great young side that we have - and a class manager to boot.
I think that Stoke suffered last night with the weight of all those extra Arse' supporters trying to influence matters

Stoke were pretty bad but we were just firing on all cylinders (especially in the 2nd half). I believe it's their biggest home defeat in the history of the Premier League. It should have been 6, at least, but 4 will do I suppose.
Another nice little record broken by Spurs this season.
