Dredged this old thread up as the Bhut Jolokia chilli has now been beaten for "hotness".
The latest chilli to guarantee self-immolation is grown in Grantham, England - Maggie Thatcher country:

Had just read the same story myself. As I'm heading back to the UK (checking in, in around 15mins!), ordered a few of the pastes/sauces to take back to China. Coming from Sichuan, my wife believes she can handle any chillies thrown at her..... we'll see!! :mrgreen:

It's old news guys, I'm a "chilihead" and I have read about this several months ago. However, it's not something that would go well with Mexican food, try Indian instead!
