Shame Arsenal sold Eduardo.
Liked him.
Horrible injury, may have been a risk player and why Wenger released him.

Wish him well at Shakhtar. :thumb:

Just extracted this from an Arsenal web site.

"Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie will not travel to Anfield" .

Can this be true? or just setting up the media war of words prior to the game.

Very worrying if true. :duck:

Just over a week or so ago Wenger was quoted as saying that he thought Fabregas would not start the Liverpool game as he would not be match fit.
I suppose the same must apply to Van Persie because he played in the World Cup Final,as well.
Not travelling to Anfield.....well,I would have thought surely a place on the subs bench for both (and I'm a Man Utd fan).
Baa Baa will know....he's in constant touch with Wenger over team selections for Sundays game ! 8)

Didn't I read on here or somewhere that starting this season just X quantity can be on the bench, and others have to be in the stands just like any other spectator? Pete

Yes Pete, the new rules state that there will be a maximum squad of 25 players, 8 of whom must be "home grown". I believe that "home grown" can mean a foreign player who has been with the club for at least 3 years.

i agree zid's.
fabregas played about 30 mins at the world cup & van persie spent most of last season injured, they can hardly be tired/burnt out can they? :?
as i said previously, fab played the first half in mexico on weds.
i'd be amazed if both were not on the bench at anfield :|

maybe :lach: but a £30 million valuation on reina = looney tunes  :D

the young pole at arsenal (i'm sticking my neck out here :duck: ) is gonna be one of the top keepers in the world in a couple of years.

problem is we need a decent keeper for now & schwarzer fits the bill, a couple of years left in him & then maybe a coaching role :|

& vice versa :|
they won't be able to keep both & have a happy ship, mind you, that goes for their squad as a whole . . . .could all end in tears :|

Agree redzonerocker, Schwarzer is a good choice if available and price is right.

Wenger is a shrewd buyer of talent. But not so good with goalkeepers in the past.
Since David Seaman, only Lehmanns came close to being good between the sticks.
He had the odd tantrum. Great to watch, hand bags at 50 paces. :duck: :duck: :duck:
