BB - surely there must be a covenent on the ground - its in a park! Can't imagine, as you say, housing ever being allowed. I guess a sale and leaseback might make sense and was what Risdale was aiming for and of course, he did that at Leeds, after leading them to financial ruin. Batesy has since bought it back and was a huge critic of Risdales methods!

The ground is already heavily mortgaged.

It was owning the ground that marked the club's downfall. The Japs came in thinking that with the World Cup coming to Plymouth, they'd get huge subsidies/grants to develop the whole area with a monster ground, hotels and shopping malls.

Although I was delighted when the World Cup bid failed, it also marked the lying Jap's lack of interest. They became Pinnochioesque and led people on with their persistent lying.

OMG!!, THIS WOULD BE MORE UNPALLETABLE THAN GETTING IAN H*LL*W*Y BACK AS MANAGER http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/news/To ... ticle.html .

I'd rather become an Exeter supporter than walk (well squeeze) through the hallowed turnstiles of Home Park ever again if Todd, Gardener and the Japs take power again.

[Edit] I see the foul language filter is working well

There are plenty of muti-millionairs in the Premier League who could follow his example with cash, or why not put in bids and re-donate the medal to Peter Reid.

A Liverpool supporter selling his Everton Runners up medal that he received after losing to Liverpool in the FA Cup Final.

Beautiful, pure poetry.

Top man Reidy, why he give up my dream job I'll never understand, coaching Football in Thailand for megabucks.

Good to read about someone in wendyball for once who's generosity, common decency and loyalty appears to be going a long way to saving a club ...... rather than listening to arrogant, overpaid prima donnas and their offensive managment.

Yes, he's proving himself to be one of football's gentlemen. I wasn't thrilled when they appointed him - I always consider football managers who take on tasks such as the Thai National Team to be looking for an easy ride. how wrong I was  .

The players haven't been paid since November, and it's meant to be 2 months earlier that they stopped paying him. He's been paying heating bills out of his own pocket to keep the office staff warm etc. I would reckon he is well out of pocket since joining the Green Army, yet he's still there day after day, trying to make the best of a very bad situation.

Very dedicated. I hope the new owners (if they one) don't do the dirty on him and bring in their own man. That would be criminal/

I want to be humble but me thinks, only a miracle can stop Brighton from going up to the Championship now.
