Unfortunately Pasta just doesn't excite me. I
never order it at a restaurant, and rarely cook it myself. When I do, I do things bit differently :p My girlfriend loves the stuff though.
Without actually doing the math, I think it's fair to assume that its probably reasonably cheaper to cook your own farrang food than to eat out. As you've pointed out, with Thai food things are quite different.
On a personal level this becomes a no-brainer; I love Thai food. I probably eat farrang food 2 or 3 times a week and then it's usually Pizza or a cheeky McDonalds/KFC. Neither of which are particularly easy to prepare to an decent standard at home!
