I forgot to add that this thread is about the Champions League, something Spurs fans have no interest in.
:cuss:

We'll be there next year, don't you worry about that. And seeing as Chelsea and United are going to be there too it looks like you're battling it out with City for fourth spot.

You see? A walk in the park!

What a dull game! It's as if AVB has said to the team "Look lads, just get the draw. Knock it about a bit. Stretch your legs but don't overdo it".

We did just that. Knocked it about creating no chances at all. Kept the ball and didn't overexert. Waste of time watching that one. :?

Gonna have to find the right thread for this at some point (when we're closing in on the final maybe) but I feel it will be a little lonely there so I'll post here for the time being. :D

Liverpool up next. Can't be arsed to watch that one as it's stupid 'o clock now. 'Law Abiding Citizen' and bedtime sounds better.

Yes Yes I know... wrong thread and all. Is there a Europa thread?

Ended up watching the Liverpool game after all...

What's the point of having a striker on 350,000 pounds a week if the rest of the team aint good enough to get the ball to him. Absurd money they're paying Eto... may his next life be in farming. :D

Better game than Spurs anywho. Now it really is silly 'o clock. One more movie then...zzzzzz.

Eto'o is one of the best "playing on the shoulder of the defender" strikers I've seen so why a manager of Hiddinks calibre plays him as a number 10 I don't know.

Dunno if they were awful or we made them look awful.

Well impressed with Assaidi, proper old school winger, 2.5 million looks a bargain.

Suarez looked shattered unfortunately.

Looks like we can add Andre Wisdom to Suso and Sterling on our list of very talented kids.

The future looks bright. We're a very young side bar Gerrard.

Bit of both I think. A poor team on the day faced what was a far better team. If both teams played to the best of their ability Liverpool would crush them.

Yup.. Suarez looked a little jaded bar the 7th or 8th minute little nutmeg nutmeg into the box drive. Gotta say the guy has grown on me somewhat. Cracking little player who is, more importantly, exciting to watch. Used to follow the sheep and hate the guy a little but after breaking away from the crowd have been somewhat lenient with his falls of recent. The fact that the cheer from the crowd (in the last league game) when he was finally given a foul his way, was at the same decibel as Liverpool's goal itself says it all.

The guys hard done by. The premier league would be a lesser league without him.

Anywho Baa Baa, I'd forget about this trophy if I was you. AVB's gonna bring it to us this year as we haven't had a trophy in a while and the Europa is his thing 'n all.

Edit: Understood it's quite recent that I've been having digs at Suarez myself. I dunno... something's just hit me over the last 3-4 games I've watched Liverpool play. Kinda like the guy tbh! :D

I love him, he's just out to win, he's not as refined as your Messi, Van Persie or Modric but he's just bloody exciting when he gets the ball, you've just got NO idea what he's going to do.

For instance you could say "Modric is a bit like David Silva" I've never seen a player you could say Suarez is similar too.

He must do about 5 nutmegs a game.

He can be frustrating mind.

Hilarious when he got put on his arse and the ref went to book the opposition and Suarez waved his finger and gestured a diving motion , "no, no, I dived"

If he could cut out the theatrics and be a bit more composed in his finishing he'd be one of the very best.

An LFC site interviewed our Ex Head of Physical Conditioning this week and this summed Suarez up.

D.G – You speak about Luis Suarez in such glowing terms can you wind your mind back to the day he joined the club and the impact he made on you and the rest of the squad.
D.B: I recall a five-a-side game in the early days where I had to join in because one of the teams was short and I remember him kicking the crap out of me a couple of times and not even bothering to help me up, he just kept on playing. I was stunned obviously, but then at the end of the game he put his arm around me and in his poor English at the time, he said ‘listen when you’re on the park you’re a player when you’re off the park, you get my respect.’ And I just thought that was fantastic. I also remember his first training session with the team, and Jamie Carragher walking off the field saying ‘I love him already’ – just because of his work rate his commitment to doing everything at such a high intensity. That doesn’t just change be it a two on two game or a gym session. His intensity is just incredible.

I wouldn't count my chickens on youth, BaaBaa. We've been very young and promising side for almost ten years now. In the end it still seems that those with money can rule the (footballing) world.

I kind of like the Arsenal model, but I'm hoping our owners will buy a Suarez or 2 to supplement our youth.

And to be fair we don't sell our stars at Arsenals rate. We've sold Torres , Alonso and Mascherano. All for different reasons, you've sold your last 5 captains at their peak, and you were a stable club.

Arsenal really, really puzzle me. I've alot of respect for Arsenal and Wenger but surely there's a point where enough is enough.

As for us, we aren't going to compete money wise atm so throw 4 or 5 very talented 17 to 19 year olds in, they'll be battle hardened in a few years. Allen 22. Lucas 26. Suarez just turned 25. Agger and Skrtel 27. We've got a nice mix.

Wilshere will do wonders for Arsenal if and when he gets back. Talented lad.

I wouldn`t say they sold 5 captains at their peak. However Arsenal do need a Tony Adams figure at the back to hold the line and do a bit of fist-waving when required. Wilshere should make a difference as Ramsey is just not good enough.

I don't follow Spanish football... *ahem* I'm English, but just wondering if Fabregas is in the starting eleven every week. If he is then fair play. If he isn't then he is a guy that doesn't actually enjoy the game but rather the money from it. Despise those twats tbf. Gifted with football feet but love the cash only.

Anyone that loves the game wants to be on the field for 90 minutes every week. You don't take less playing time for a higher salary just because you may win a trophy that you contributed to.

If you had gifted feet what would you rather have... 90 minutes week in week out with Norwich or half hour every now and then with United.

I'd take Norwich every time. Used to hate getting subbed with a passion (granted I wasn't getting paid in Pompey's youth squad.... was never that good, grew late and people pushed me of the ball. Ironically I don't think their senior squad is getting paid now either. :?)

36 appearances. 11 goals so he's doing okay.

TBF, he's a Spanish lad who supports Barca who happen to be one of the best sides ever.

Understood but if he was a bench warmer surely he should have stayed at Arsenal. He's not so it's hypothetical.

17 minutes to go... looking for QPR to nick a late winner.

Prediction for the Derby tomorrow Baa Baa...? I'm calling it 1-2 Liverpool (Can't remember what I put on IKTS)
