Unfortunately, I only just found this thread.
When I log on to the Forum I normally just look at the Latest Topics list down on the right hand side.
And if a couple of weeks have passed, it's easy to completely miss a topic.

I wholeheartedly agree with what has been said about the unfairness of freezing UK Pensions, am just waiting for the UK Government to introduce a means test for state pensions, that will be the last straw!

I have signed the petition and there are 129 on it now.
Going to circulate to my expat pals and ask them to do the same.

If the topic could somehow be resurrected every couple of weeks to appear on the Latest Topic list, the petition might get a bit more exposure. I am not savvy enough to know how this could be done, but I am sure there are a few on here who could manage it.

Well I'm leaning towards this route.................

Exciting new BUPA Programme:

You're a sick senior citizen and the government says they are going to sell your house to pay for your nursing care. So what do you do?

Our plan gives anyone 65 years or older a gun and 4 bullets. You are allowed to shoot four Politicians.

Of course, this means you will be sent to prison..... where you will get three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating, air conditioning and all the health care you need!

Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses? That’s great. Need a new hip, knees, kidney, lungs or heart? They’re all covered.

As an added bonus, your kids can come and visit you as often as they do now.

And who will be paying for all of this? It’s the same government that just told you that they cannot afford to pay for your nursing care.

And you can get rid of 4 useless politicians while you are at it.

Plus, because you are a prisoner you don't have to pay income tax.Is this a great country or what?
RICHARD OF LOXLEY

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

The sad thing Richard is that this kind of makes sense. Be a good citizen and the Govt will take your last penny, be a villan and they will take care of everything!!

Great post Richard, and one that makes my blood boil. :cuss:

I was sorting out funeral arrangements for my father 18 months ago, and found that because my mum and dad had not lived beyond their means, and had saved a bit of money, my mum was not entitled to any help with the funeral costs - which are not cheap!

FORM: Do you have income support? NO
Are you receiving something credits? NO
Are you unemployed? NO

In which case you will receive NOTHING to help you. If you're already bleeding the country dry, then we'll give you some more money. Grrrrr....

Sorry, end of rant, and :offtopic:
