I was speaking to an ex colleague yesterday in Abu Dhabi (not far from Bahrain) and he reckons it's been the coldest March he can remember in the last 10 years he's been in the region. I was living in Bahrain when they held the first GP there and went to the race, where trackside temperatures were in the 40's!!

Alonso has now disappeared Terry from the pick selection screen. There is a new separate box for McLaren with Stoffel Vandoorne's name in it. I don't know if they'll default over to him for those who picked Alonso already? I'll email superbru and let you know if any reply before the race. Pete

I've just looked at your picks Terry after I made mine and they've already replaced Alonso with Stoffel Vandoorne on your chart. Unfortunately I don't think they'll open up the system after picks made to allow people to change this. I did send an email and I'll post when I get a reply. Pete

I've received an automated reply so far Terry and in that they say if problems you can send your picks to support@superbru.com and they'll insert them. This is not their final reply and awaiting that for an exact answer/solution.

You could try emailing them at above if you don't want Stoffel Vandoorne and tell them who you want to insert into that finishing position. Pete

It's a funny old game. Now that I have a 'system' it doesn't matter what I know about motor racing, which isn't a lot anyway. Probably the only thing that will affect my system is forgetting to make picks or a driver not driving in a race.

I did my picks a couple of days after the last race, and the 'system' didn't include Alonso. I tried all ways to include Alonso manually, but it wouldn't let me do it. In the end, I thought the 'system' generally works (I'm 3rd as a complete ignoramus), just leave it. I pressed the submit button, and thought no more of it, until I saw saw Terry's post.

F1 in stalemate over qualifying format direction

This just makes no sense at all. There's more to this story than we're being told.

It's an interesting precedent. The teams have shown that when they all pull together they can get what they want. Although this was a (seemingly) particularly obvious decision to make, it's the first time I recall that Bernie hasn't been able to use his divide and conquer approach to get what he wants.

Not a great surprise..

Taken from: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/36027731

"Fernando Alonso says he does not know whether he will be able to race in this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix.
The McLaren driver was ruled out of the last race in Bahrain because of a broken rib sustained in his terrifying accident at the season-opening race in Australia.
The two-time champion said: "Until I get the all-clear from the doctors to race we cannot assume anything.
"But I'm continuing to prepare for the race weekend as normal."
The Spaniard, who has been in China since Monday, will be examined by doctors of governing body the FIA on his arrival at the Shanghai track on Thursday."
