Texas Floods

Post by Lost »

I hope all our American members' families are safe and sound if they reside in Texas. Devastating flooding there, the pictures are awful. 51 dead so far, many unaccounted for. Young children at camp victims. 14 children declared dead so far.

Awful.

Happy 4th of July NOT... Absolutely devastating. I was watching on BBC this morning - with the torrential rain, it was reported water levels rose well over 25ft in 45 minutes!! That kind of power just washed all in it's path away. With it being a holiday weekend of course the toll on life will be all worse.

Very sad news.

It's shocking how fast this situation developed:

"The Guadalupe River rose from three feet to 34 feet in about 90 minutes, according to data from a river gauge near the town of Comfort, Texas. The volume of water exploded from 95 cubic feet per second to 166,000 cubic feet per second."
