Stories in the press beginning to emerge tonight that Walcott is on the verge of leaving Arsenal? Not much substance anywhere though. Telegraph reeported this:

Meanwhile, back at Chelsea HQ:

Dembele, very nice. Well chuffed with that one. Admired him for a while now.

:agree:

Good news.
Not a like for like replacement for Modric, but there aren't many of those around, and Dembele is undoubtedly a better finisher than Modric, which we certainly need.

And possibly M'Vila alongside him apparently, though he sounds quite similar to Sandro. Maybe better than Sandro?

Of course, all this should have been happening 2 months ago...

I can't see him getting along with Van Persie at all, especially as Van Persie will outscore him 2 to 1 at least IMO. Confident there will be some drama later on with Rooney demanding to be traded....or simply not playing. Pete

I think you may be doing him an injustice there Pete. He's hacked it with other class players many times in the past. I actually thought the Ronaldo incident was the end of them playing together, but they kissed and made up. VP is just another in a long line of superstars that he has to play alongside.

"Sports Reporter" in the Daily Mail has been known to be wrong, in fact he is rarely right. The DM typically speculate on a story, usually gleaned from other rags, and hope that one day it comes true.

Plenty of substance in blog/forum land :D

Apparently he's been offered a new contract at £75k per week (a rise of £15k) & turned it down
As he's in the last year of his contract i suspect he'll be shipped out if agreement isn't made.

A bit like Song, he's a bit of a marmite player.
Has had his moments, but overall not really hit the heights consistently enough.
Not even sure a new contract is justified, never mind a pay rise :? :|

Cracking player, great signing.

Almost Messi-esque, he's got 5 whole goals for Fulham in 62 games. :?
