Sarge, if you're talking about the new course in "Takiap", I played there last week and was told mid week fee would be 1000 baht during October plus 250 caddie fee. I didn't use a cart so I'm not sure how much they are charging for those.

There is a big sign near Pae Mai that says something about four courses and 6,000 baht (naturally it was all in Thai). Didn't have time to get a pic as some loon in a SUV was millimeters from my bumper, does anyone know what this promotion entails?

Does anyone know the current prices at Majestic? They don't seem to have a web site, and I tried the phone number listed in the (HHAD sponsored?) http://www.tourismhuahin.com/golf-huahin.php site but it was the number for the resort, not the golf course. They gave me a number that was supposedly for the pro shop and when I called it I got Lake View  , not Majestic Creek!

It has been Baht 2,500 + 250 ( caddy ) for the past 3 years or so, in the high season, and my golf book for Thailand prices for 2010/11 also says baht 2,500.

IMO it has always been too highly priced in the high season, because although a wonderful lay-out, the greens are too slow because the same Kikuyu grass is used on fairways and greens.

Are you not aware that it is usual practice for a different grass to be used on the greens as compared to the fairways?
Most TV PGA events at the start of the first day advise what the two grass specifications are.
All the courses I have played in France comply with this specification - as you should have noticed yourself - unless it was on Pitch & Putt par three types!!

Tried to play new army course yesterday but was booked so just went to Thanarat in Pranburi instead. 820 Baht including caddy (200 less for Thais :D but I couldn't convince them I wasn't farang). Rain has helped improve the course a good bit and although not still that great, fairly good value for money.

First game this year and turned in a very consistent performance. Out in 50 and back in 50. Though I was going to do better on back nine but managed an 11 at the 14th!! Oh well, we had a good day out and a few beers at the end.

^ I played the new army course yesterday without a booking at around 9:30 and there were only a few groups on the course at the beginning and maybe 15 cars in the parking lot. It did get a little stacked up by the time we hit the back nine but still didn't seem completely booked when looking around the course.

I am an american (age 35) on my honeymoon in Hua Hin until Nov 17th, looking for a recommendation on where to play golf.

Also looking for a place to hang out with my wife at night! We are staying at Let's Sea, which is nice, but isn't in town so we aren't sure where to go.

^ If you're talking about the weekday price, that includes caddy fee. On weekends I believe it is 200 baht more (1450 with caddie fee).

While your here you should play Black Mountain and Springfield (not cheap but ur on holiday), if you want to take a day out organise a trip to Kraeng Kachan, really trip day out - better use a tour guide to organise a taxi to take you, pmd u with a number to call for this option.

Have a great time!
