It can be quite rainy (although Hua Hin is normally restricted to showers). The weather is starting to cool to pleasant temperatures in the high 20s. There will be periods of sunshine. Just about everything I suppose except snow.

depends what weather you like??

You never really have to worry about it being too cold. If you're not bothered by a couple of hours rain on most days then you can come whenever you like. If you want to be sure the rain will keep away then November to Feb is generally the best. If you like the extreme heat then March-April.

Warning
"Tropical storm “DOKSURI”"

At 0400 LST today, tropical storm “DOKSURI” in the South China Sea was centered about 110 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong or at latitude 22.0 oN, 112.8 oE with maximum sustained wind about 35 knot or 65 kilometer per hour. This storm is moving west-northwest with speed 12 knots or 22 kilometers per hour and it move across westward of Macau in China today and become weak.

The strong southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand and tropical storm “DOKSURI” in the South China Sea affect more rain and isolated heavy rain over the North, the Northeast, the east and the western portion of Thailand during 30 June – 2 July. People in the risky areas should beware of heavy rain. This area includes Mae Hong Son, Tak, Chanthaburi Trat and Ranong. The wind-waves are likely 2-3 meters in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand; all ships should proceed with caution.

I've heard that HH has the best weather in Thailand. Do you all agree or what do you think about that statement?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this. Mods, please move / delete if necessary. I'm shamelessly trying to get my post count up so I can read a PM but also want to be on topic and, this is something I really wondered about when I heard it from more than 1 person.

I personally prefer the climate in the North (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai) and I am not alone.

^ Good point! You've got the elevation up there.

Comparing similar sea level locations though how does it stack up against the rest of the country? Cooler? For example, Ranong is supposed to be one of the wettest places in Thailand and it's been wet the few times I've been there.

What's September/October normally like guys? Bit of a change to my itinerary this year, I normally do June and July then December and January but had to miss June this year.

September/October is similar to June right? Boiling and a downpour in the afternoon?

I'll give my 2 satang Baa until the locals get here. The chance of rain is the highest of the year during those 2 months. Temps will be cooler than June IMO. Pete

Cheers Pete, nice that it's a bit cooler but from what I've read it's a bit drier our side, as you say, I'll see what the locals say, not that it makes any difference, I'll be there either way. :P

Very similar to June and July then which is fine for me, I actually enjoy the downpour but it's a bit cooler too. 8)
