Mid-season break, so not much news about football.

Some good news though - drawings of the new ladies toilet facilities have been released - 18 seats. Should result in in a huge reduction on waiting times  . Let's hope they are maintained better than the ones at Fort Thanarat.

I would like to know if you can see the pitch from there because it looks like the only place that will provide any sort of shade for the supporters!!

Looking at today's 'back to training photos, there are a couple of faces missing as well. GD, I see you were there, any news please?

Diego?
Yongsak?
Nuttapong?
Panupong?
Apirak?

Those are the faces I didn't see. It's not easy to see who isn't there. Were they segregated (maybe injured), or were they missing?

Here's the info or as much as I could find out today. Not saying this will be 100% accurate but don't think it will be far off the mark.
First can I say it was a strange day at training. Markus, the Peruvian owner asked me to not say anything about what I was seeing as they were trying to keep everything quiet to get a bit of a march on their opponents. Reasonable enough request and I was prepared to do that but to see the pics plastered all over the clubs fb page now it seems a bit of a pointless request so I will enlighten you.
The first half of the seasons squad which numbered 27 or 28 players has been culled. Only 13 of that squad were at training today. There were another 9 new faces. The 5 new players pictured in the facebook photos plus one other, the guy in the orange strip. He trained with the players but I don't know what his status is. There was a new goalkeeping coach who has come from Khon Kaen Utd FC, a girl who had some kind of medical role and another guy who appeared to be a coach and I have seen before at the training ground a couple of times in recent weeks since the arrival of the new head coach.
Of the old squad the 13 that remained were :-

1. Shota
3. Sato
5. Da
6. Wongsawad
8. Anucha
9. Andre
10. Lucas
12. Pu
14. ??????
24. Surasak Wongchai
29. Chakraphan Sivichai
31. Panupong
35. Kanchit

No names yet for the new players and very little info. The big black guy has apparently come from Bangkok Glass.

My personal feelings were the previous squad was to big, now it is smaller and hopefully of greater quality. The "retained" players are all players that I would have personally kept with my only doubt being No.14 but that's not to say he's not good enough as he was injured for a large part of the first half of the season. Of those who have gone I could only really have made a good case for keeping possibly two, No. 19 who has played full back in recent games and No. 27 the midfielder. Hopefully this is an indication of the quality of the new players who have come in.
Maybe there will be one or two more additions before we kick off again. At least the club have acted quickly and the players have over a month to get bedded in before our next league game.

Thank you very much GD.

14 is Petay Sangiemsak. There were, of course, 2 Panupong's. No. 23 who I didn't see, and 31 who you did see.

Well. I expected a bit of a shake up, but full marks to our coach, it must have taken balls to weed them out like that. Of course, there is the possibility that a couple of the team are on extended leave e.g. Nutthapong is a Facebook friend. He's mentioned nothing, and I know that he's spending time with his son at the moment.

I know Yongsak has been struggling to find his form this season, but he's been a fairly regular starter, and his departure would be a big shock to me.

Time will tell.

What this brings home to me is the uncertainty of a career in Thai football. Only 7 of the Championship side survived into this season, and just 6 months later we've had another massive clear out.

Let's hope we get a couple of friendlies to help the new squad bind.

Certainly appear to be ringing the changes, as expected I guess. From what was posted on the club's Facebook yesterday I've been able to decipher who some of the players are:

Valery Hiek is the big guy, he's a centre half from Cameroon, previously with Bangkok Glass in the premier league, more recently with Chainat. He's now 34. There's a YouTube video of him(i can't post the link on my phone) it seems he likes to take free kicks, although Lucas has nothing to worry about.... Mind you I wouldn't argue with him!

Dusit Nongprathum, he's the guy on the right of the photo wearing 33. He's a defender(presumably a full back) we've signed from Prachuap, he also has previous experience with Phuket in the premier league.

Athit Wisetsilp, a 21 year old midfielder signed from Thai Navy of the premier league.

Annop Chaisiri, I was struggling when I was researching this guy.... He is a goalkeeper with premier league experience as well but most recently with the newly formed Khon Kaen United, I think he is the one on the left of the photo wearing 26(I could be mistaken but looks similar to the 1 photo I found) Perhaps GD could confirm if that adds up. I know you mentioned about a GK coach coming from Khon Kaen, is it one and the same or.....?

I'm not sure about the 5th player.

Bik Dam was quoted as saying that they wanted to get these guys in early to give them time to settle in for our push to the Champions League. Although he also added that we're not finished yet and he expects another 5 new players in.....

The new goalkeeper is number 26 but there is a new goalkeeping coach as well.

This is all sounding really good.

With all respect to Nobby, I honestly never thought that he had enough knowledge of Thai football to make the difference that a lot of people in Hua Hin are wanting, in very quick time. Our new coach wouldn't have risen to where he is without the required knowledge of Thai football or more importantly the respect of Thai footballers.

A week ago, I thought we had a good chance of making it to the Champions League. Today, I am a lot more certain.

Our new coach continues to impress me. It's such a shame we didn't have him since early January. At least it'll make the rest of the season more exciting playing catch-up.

Sorry if I'm sounding too positive

I've tried to figure out more on the 5th player, I know his name in Thai but I still can't find anywhere how it's written in English!

From what I can gather, he is 24 years old, a midfielder, played for Phuket in League 1 last season. He was then signed up by Osotspa M150 who play in the Thai premier league for this season..... After that it's difficult to find much info on him....

My assumption:
He impressed last year in league 1, enough that a long established premier league club signed him, for whatever reason things haven't quite worked out and we've taken the opportunity to sign him.

All of the above assumption is sheer speculation on my part but it would explain why he has went off the radar since joining Osotspa.

Still, must be a good player to have got the move to the premier league for this season.

That's all 5 of our new signings thus far have premier league experience. I can see why Big Boy is in a good mood! (it won't last! )

I seen another article today in which Bik Dam states we are 'in negotiations' with the remaining targets(still quoted as expecting 5 more)
