But of course - just doesn't sound as good, look as good or feel as good........ Plus it was tongue in cheek Steve (as was the advert - considering AM are moving to electric).

The Lotus Evija will out-perform them all, but it’ll set you back a cool £2m to own one

Just saw my first Ora Good Cat ... very nice. Think MG EP has a bit of competition this year.

Throw in that ฿160k incentive, and I think they are getting in the ballpark, for first time, middle class buyers.
Now if they could put a pick up truck out for that price <฿1m, think we'd see a lot more EVs on the road.

MG ZS EV down to 949,000 Baht and the MG EP EV now goes for 761,000 Baht with the new subsidy/discount.

Nicely spotted ... thanks.

My back doesn't like getting in/out the EP, though once in, very nice. Have the 2020 ZS (ICE), quite like it,
so definitely like the new pricing for the EV version. Wait & see what else comes available this next year,
before the incentives expire. Competition is a beautiful thing.

GMW Ora Good Cat's new pricing:
"Official price ORA Good Cat

Good Cat TECH 400km. : 828,500 baht (original price 989,000 baht)
Good Cat PRO 400km. : 898,500 baht (original price 1,059,000 baht)
Good Cat ULTRA 500km. : 1,038,500 baht (original price 1,199,000 baht)
Reduce the price of 160,500 baht for all sub-models according to the government's measure to support 100% electric vehicles. It is effective from 21 March 2022 onwards.

MG estimates ฿200-250 to charge 0-100 % (50 kWh @ 4.25)
NEDC est 400 kms WLTP est 320 kms range
Compare that to my MG ZS (11 kpl) = ฿1200 +/- to fill @ ฿30 per L (E85)
Not Even Damn Close
Real life driving, I'd expect 200-250 range, so double it to match fill up of ICE

So ฿400-500 vs ฿1200, unless all driving around town @ 35-50 kph, *see link
then you'll get closer to the range rating, and maybe 200-250 for EV vs 1200 ICE

My ballpark guess for my driving habit.

If, after charging, the car isn't used for a week or 2, does the battery hold its charge
or does it deteriorate?

Apparently nothing to worry about for 2 weeks or 2 months. vid from link, explains @ 3 minutes into it. Almost 2 months and lost about 10%

I doubt that I’ve left my PHEV sitting for more than 3-4 days, but over a short period like that, if the battery was 100% then it would still be showing 100%. I would expect it to take a long time (as suggested 2 months or more) before getting a 10% reduction

Oh, one more question (for now); What would be the best of the cheapest cars available here?

I'm leary of English cars since an English mechanic warned me to never buy one as they spend as much time in the shop as on the road. That was some time ago, so that may no longer be true.

Cheapest is relative.
I personally would only consider 3, MG EP & ZS (SAIC) or Ora Good Cat (GWM).
We have the MG ZS (ICE), and also would NOT own a UK, EU or USA car. Love our ZS.

2 other options, for short & slow drives around town only:
