My pre-internet sources (books), and therefore not as cloudy, put him as William Joyce.
Tokoyo Rose was possibly more interesting in the Pacfic propaganda campaign war. :D

Disinformation stills goes on with shock jocks, and global warming denialists.

This one posted on 23rd June, page 48, has not been solved. How about letting us in on it, kalbow?
Yes, sorry, my bad. Forgot about that one. The railing is from the Gloster Memorial Bridge at the River Imjin. The Gloster Regiment suffered heavy casualities in defending the area. The significance of the battle - "Had the Chinese achieved a breakthrough in the initial stages of their assault, they would have been able to outflank the 1st ROK Division to the west and the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division to the east of 29th Brigade. Such a development would have threatened the stability of the UN line and increased the likelihood of success for a Chinese advance on Seoul."

Thanks, kalbow, I have never heard of it. The Korean War seems to be a bit of a "forgotten" episode, although there were substantial losses by all involved.

Yep pretty herioc battle to hold the hill 235
from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... rsary.html

The brigade lost nearly 25 per cent of its entire strength, with 1,091 men killed, captured or missing in action. More than 500, were taken to prisoner-of-war camps.

Chinese did many night attacks sneaking up in their happy shoes then banging gongs. Put the beejezus some opposing troops.

Next year will mark 60 years of peace talks.

Yep Nereus, bit forgotten. Mrs. Kalbow has never heard of World War II let alone the Korean war. My old dad was there (Korea and WW2) so I have a little bit of knowledge about Korea. Interesting looking through some of his old Korean War pics. I believe he fought at Imjin, he was in the Royal Artillery in a Forward Operations Post role (some of the diggers on this forum may correct me on this as I can't recall the exact name of the unit).

Cheers

Another early riser, siani? Missed this thread!

Looks like an observatory. Back later.

Not an observatory, apparently!

"The Integratron is an acoustically perfect tabernacle and energy machine sited on a powerful geomagnetic vortex in the magical Mojave Desert"

And I thought a tabernacle was a place of worship!

Mate...the use of the word tabernacle should have set off the krapometer klaxon...it was built by a new age quackery guffin hence the quasi religious description. As it was built by a new age goon its also pig ugly.....crap science leads to crap architecture.

Compared to the beauty of Buckminster Fuller inspired Buckyball domes like the Eden Project.....see...proper science = beautiful product, crappy quack science = pig ugly monstrosity.
