When was your first visit to Hua Hin?

My First visit was when the Sawadee resturant just opened ,and i was at the opening of the head rock bar which was accross from the Hilton (which was not built then) if i remember right.
I stayed in the Sofitel and the bars were few and far between, think there were about 3-6 bars in total, in the whole of HUa Hin.Th expat hotel was there i think or it might have been the Lord nelson as the same name, my age is catching up with me.
There used to be a Angus steak house on the main street and not much more,i think it was around September 1991

My first time was 2008. My husband took me to work with elephants for my 40th B'day. Fell in love with the people and the country straight away. After a fantastic week in the jungle with the wildlife he took me to Hua Hin for a week. We stayed at the Wora Bura. Amazing!!!!!!!!!! Life changing experience we now plan to retire in Hua Hin.

I was first in Hua Hin in 2002, it has changed beyond recognition since then but it is still a cut above Patts and Phuket.

My first visit to Hua Hin was in 2008, In the past my wife chose destinations but I refused to go to any resort in Thailand starting with P. She was very happy with my choice despite initial Where? Why? Looking forward to return in October.

My first time was in 2000 although I was already living here in LOS by then. In 2002 we made the move as I just couldn't handle Bangkok any longer. I must admit, it's changed quite a bit since then. I lot of the charm has been leveled by construction machinery, especially in the outlaying areas. Now it's becoming just another city with every passing day.

When we bought our piece of land and build our place, there were only three other people nearby. We had great views of the hills and at night you could sit outside without street lights shining in your eyes. Now we can see bugger all apart from houses. Ah well, at least most of them stand empty for most of the year. Maybe I'm just a little strange, but I prefer the dark nights without streetlights. Maybe time to move a little further away. I've stayed up in the sticks in Isaan and was quite happy there but the wife doesn't want to make the move. Of course we do have the kids to think about so yes, she has a valid argument. Perhaps I could move up there and she could just come and visit from time to time

In a nutshell...................Hua-Hin is still a great little town.

But for many reasons......I keep coming back.

In 1999, my wife and me started a 3 weeks trip in Thailand. When coming to Hua Hin after 5 days,we got the message that my mother had passed away. In 2001, we wanted to fullfill the plans and travelled all over Thailand. We ended up in Hua HIn. Since 2005, we have been there several times a year, built our own house and now look forward to, hopefully, have some years when we retire. Hua Hin and Pranburi are just great!

First time in Hua Hin was 2004, flew in with Bangkok Airways after a couple of weeks on Samui and stayed at the Marriott. Had been to Pattaya a few times but found HH so relaxing and quiet we decided to buy property for our retirement. The place has changed so much since then but it has managed to keep its charm.

Came to Hua Hin in 2006 with a group of friends to play golf (after many golf holidays in Florida, Arizona, South Africa, Malaysia, Phuket). Really got to like Hua Hin and have been coming at least twice a year ever since. Phuket has more "top quality" golf courses but I prefer Hua Hin to Patong Beach.

First visited to Hua Hin in November 1985.

Got a 3 week holiday staying at the Marriott Hotel.
Plane out of Gatwick by Air Europe(well gone now l think) on a 757 ER.
Refuel and crew change in Dubai.Cramped was to say the least.

Had a ball and came back 6 months later to find a really nice Thai girl that became my wife.

Retired in Khon Kaen 13 years ago and moved to Hua Hin 18 months ago.

Hua Hin was so different 25 years ago.
