Well, having missed the games yesterday to get blitzed over at the in-laws for Chinese New Year, I've managed to avoid the scores and watch on BBC iPlayer today.......

The Wales vs Scotland game just about gave me a heart attack - all I can say is thank you Scottland..... and thank Christ we weren't playing the French!!

Wales with A LOT of work to do.......

The next round at the end of the month gets serious. France at Wales a toss up but home field advantage. Scotland at Italy with Scotland having many injuries. Ireland at England a blood bath perhaps, too close to call. :D Pete

You could be right. I only hope England turn up for the next game. The Italy game was almost a National Embarrassment.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Wales 31 - Scotland 24

The most amazing atmosphere I have ever experienced at a rugby match I was in the stand behind the posts where all the tries were scored. It was simply indescribable.

So glad I didn't leave early like some and definitely one of those games which people will look back on and say "I wuz there".....

..... and I was!

And I won the sweep again - closest score this time!

Good to see that in the 'professional' era some players are keeping the fine traditions of post-match clubhouse tomfoolery alive!

What an idiot!

This, along with Jerry Flannery's 'Cantona' moment in Ireland's game against France (link below) are the talking points of the weekend for me!

How on earth did he get away without a red card? He didn't even get yellow!

Has Flannery actually been cited yet? Could be out for a little while over this fine "tackle".

Quite a weekend Jamie - you lucky, lucky barsteward for actually getting there. Screemed myself hoarse and my wife and neighbours deaf whilst watching on iPlayer........

Will be a cricket score against France though if we can't reduce unforced errors and sort out the lineout which is still shaky despite a vast improvement from Twickenham. A little thought behind the scrum wouldn't go amiss either - can't rely on having a 1 or 2 man advantage agaist France...... or anyone else for that matter.

With Gethin Jenkins very doubtful and Alyn-Bin Jones out for the remainder of the tournament, more problems for Wales ahead of the France game.

Question now is what the hell to do in the 2nd and back rows.... :?

AWJ is a bit of a show pony in my opinion - I can't see what all the hype is about. There are two other blokes in the squad who are proper grafting locks: Ian Gough and Deiniol Jones. Jones is a good ball winner, whilst Gough is a similar player to Bradley Davies, who I thought really beefed up the pack when he came on against Scotland. However, I imagine that the starting second row will be Bradley Davies and Charteris.

Jamie - I don't believe there's any real "hype", although us Welsh do tend to get over excited with regards to the game played in heaven....
Personally I rate AWJ, and his performance against Scotland (playing with a fecked elbow for a fair old while), was one of the few positives for Wales.

Have to admit, living in China stuffs me for rugby, so I really know zip of Deiniol Jones this season - how's he playing? I'd like to see Gough there, I agree Charteris is likely to be back in though..

I'm worried with the front row and 9 though.... Gethin Jenkins out(?) .. hooker(?) :? ... Phillips we NEED YOU!!! :cuss:

Charteris had a good game and man of the match for the dragons friday night so might have played his way into the team and Gatland has said that Bradley Davies will start.
