Never said the land was worthless, far from it. It is a new development in Palm Hills and I bought it prior to development. The Chanote can not be given until the development is complete and surveyed. That should be next month. I have until then to determine how I want to handle it. Can be a lease or a company purchase.
Don't know how you got worthless land from my statement that I did not want the hassel of dealing with the local builders.
Has anybody on this forum actually bought and then sold a house in Thailand and made a profit?

Not exactly, but when I visited HH in Nov. 2005, I met a Swedish lady and her daughter who signed a 6 million Baht contract in Feb. the same year and were offered close to 8 million by another farang in Nov. when the house was 90% complete.
So it looks like a profit is more than possible.
Haven't actually sold my property but I've recently been offered 3 times what it cost me. It's not for sale but is very tempting.
I have 3 friends who have made a profit this year.
a. One sold her lease back to the owner with 25 years left on it. Bought 5 years ago for 4 and a half mill. Sold back to the owner for 7 mill.
b. Bought a house for 1.5 mill and sold for 2.2 mill without even moving in.
c. Bought a house for 4 mill. Build finished this year. Sold 6 months later for 85,000 pounds (can't be bothered to convert).
So yes, you can buy and sell and even make a profit.
