Sounds like the Chicken Little's of the farang community shooting their mouths off prematurely! Like other things they do prematurely!
So Cal guy into a lot!

Serios, I really hope it's will be something easy with a copy of your passport with a stamp that you could make when youre at the imm. anyway for whatever reason.

OK
As usual, some conflicting statements from National and regional sources. It will be nice when some confirmation from people apprehended confirm whether DL's and copies of PP's are acceptable. As the more seasoned of you know quite often it is down to the regional officer to interpret the law as he sees fit. Lot of 'face saving' to be done IMO

It is simply amazing how the "truth" is so difficult for some people. I agree, the reports of people being fined already for not having a passport were probably just fuel for the fire and I believe that Thai Visa Forum made a serious mistake that allot of people fell for and replicated to many places. Gotta love the internet...especially forums.Big Boy wrote:So what about the reports we've had of people being fined already? Were they exaggerated rumours or will they get their money back?

It was no “mistake”, they orchestrated the whole thing.

Ok, so we get the back pedaling on the passport issue - but no mention of 24 hour reporting, is HH immigration going to be enforcing this?

I am more concerned about the 48 hour reporting, which will affect me more.

Self-moderation - sounds quite obscene...buksida wrote:Ok, so we get the back pedaling on the passport issue - but no mention of 24 hour reporting, is HH immigration going to be enforcing this?

According to the Thai Visa forum site, they have had a change of heart?? copies of Passports are now ok.....so many farang complaints i think.
Re: Hua Hin Immigration clampdown on ID and 24hr reporting
Just been talking to a friend who did his 90 day reporting today at Hua Hin, he was told to carry his passport (not a copy or drivers licence) with him at all times or face a B2,000 fine if the police stopped him.
Re: Hua Hin Immigration clampdown on ID and 24hr reporting
I went round the corner to the 7/11 tonight and made sure my passport was in my pocket...

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

It start to be litle bit to much new rules now
Re: Hua Hin Immigration clampdown on ID and 24hr reporting
So is this statement from Deputy Commander Voravat to be ignored as the HH immigration seem to be doing? Are the HH immigration even aware of the comments coming out of Bangkok? Is this another case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing?
Re: Hua Hin Immigration clampdown on ID and 24hr reporting
I don't need to do my 90 day until September. Maybe a Forum member having to do one in the next few days could clarify and politely point out DC Voravat's statement to them if they are still insisting passports need to be carried at all times.............just a thought.
