Best "free" film/TV streaming sites?
Re: Best "free" film/TV streaming sites?
Is it about taxes and competition? Or about control and having company executives who can be hauled off for"discussions" or even criminal proceedings?

At €35 (1,330 baht) a month, it might be out of the price range of a lot of people - me included

I think you get what you pay for. On an annual basis the cost is Eur348 so Eur29pm (1,100 bht). My annual savings compared with having EXPAT TV and 365SPORT is about 6,000bhtpa. - and more important this is legal.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2017 7:57 amAt €35 (1,330 baht) a month, it might be out of the price range of a lot of people - me included

Re: Streaming Tv
Since their 'shutdown' I've found HDPrime to be improving all the time. I have it on pretty much all day. There were some buffer problems on the European servers but since I've switched to Thai A it works fine. Still no working 'catchup' though. I run from a laptop plugged into my TV.thecolonel wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2017 12:16 am Looking for an alternative to ilikehd /HD prime as unreliable. Any ideas folks? However, you might try FIRSTONETV.EU. Caters for 40+ countries. Just click on your flag. There are some 'hidden' channels which are 'unhidden' when you register. It's totally free and no VPN needed.

When I'm in town I use Showbox or sometimes Mobdro.

Re: Best "free" film/TV streaming sites?
Not completely free but this is my solution, runs well with occasional nudge needed from mouse click, does not detract from viewing.
I use Android TV box, from expat TV, you may be able to cast from android phone to smart TV or put play store direct on smart TV.
All programs from Play store
Filmon.TV Can also download for PC from website, Windows 8, but works on 10. As well as UK TV also has TV in many other languages
Done research, run by US millionaire who has court battles in many states with many companies, ABC, NBC, to name a couple. All to do with 1976 legislation about cheap rates for cable companies concerning copyright, he has out of court settlements which allow him to continue but he cannot broadcast in US.
Costs $14.95/month (about 10 GBP (edit 11.20 with CC charges)) all UK channels in real time plus some US also VOD but you pay extra. 2 months free if you pay by the year, but who knows?
(Before you pay it gives 2 minutes of BBC news as speed test for functionality, many other channels free to air)
Easy to set up and pay, Thai billing address gives programming in Thai time.
News runs 24 hours, mix of BBC UK/World.
Subscription gives 11 hours of cloud recording/month which when watched and deleted retains 11 hours.
This is handy to record during Thai unsociable hours and watch during UK night screen or tele shopping. More hours can be purchased.
TV Guide UK from play store gives full listing of programs.
Also found free film channel for android been watching 2017 films in real time.
HD movies 2027 Free
Just found out that my month subscription renews automatically until cancelled.

Re: Best "free" film/TV streaming sites?
I’ve recently returned to Thailand after spending about 19 months in the UAE and only now started to miss the demise of ThaiExpatTV so decided to invest in a VPN so that I could connect to BBC, ITV etc. I have subscribed to ExpressVPN at a cost of $100 pa so quite a bit cheaper than ThaiExpatTV. Although I have not yet watched a full programme, I checked last weeks episode of Peaky Blinders and it started fine, so I am certain it will play ok. For one subscription, you can connect 3 devices.

I'm downloading everything I need these days, supplemented by True Visions for the footie and ifollow to watch Plymouth Argyle matches live.
I was watching the likes of Sky News live via a freebie VPN, but that hasn't worked for a couple of weeks now, with the message:
I've been thinking they might have found a way to detect VPNs.

With the VPN that I have subscribed to, there is “allegedly” a 30 day free trial period in which you can get a full refund, so hopefully the system won’t crash on day 31. Although due to timing, I probably lost at least $100 when ThaiExpatTV went down the swanny, so maybe I will be fated!!Big Boy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 22, 2017 2:36 pm I'm downloading everything I need these days, supplemented by True Visions for the footie and ifollow to watch Plymouth Argyle matches live.

Re: Best "free" film/TV streaming sites?
I've been using HDPrime since it started. A little cheaper than expat and has several hundred channels with 'catch-up' on the main ones, movies online (and they're bang up to date) plus loads of series (box sets). If the series you're watching is current, the latest episode is added within a couple of days. It's paid with 'True Money' from 7/11. A full subscription also gives you access to blue movies if you're so inclined.
No downloading, no contract and you just pay for what you want.
