When I registered with BBC, ITV, etc. I was asked for my UK Post Code, house number (Ithink) and whether I had a licence. I used my brother's post code and house number. If you haven't done something similar, you need to re-register.

It isn't the VPN, it is the registration to the services being provided.

As Pete mentioned above, the BBC seem to have its head buried in the sand saying it’s a rights issue - it may well be, but what’s stopping them changing the rights issues? I’m sure there would be hundreds of thousands if not more willing to pay the license fee and watch all the available programmes which would provide a significant income boost when they claim they are struggling to survive. In the meantime, it’s little white lie time!!

Not necessarily so - not all VPN providers are as good as say Nord or Express in “hiding” your identity.

I can get it working most of the time with Nord though often have to change browsers. However, its rarely in FHD so I tend to download things like documentaries rather than struggle with streaming and watching in low quality and buffering.

No, I agree with that, but I thought we were discussing the TV Licence.

As I understand it, the rights issue is that such things are geographically constrained. The rights to a particular show or film that the BBC has, only allows them to broadcast that show in the UK. In other parts of the world, the rights to the same piece of programming are given to a different broadcaster.
